When the network announced renewal orders for “American Idol,” “Dancing with the Stars” and most of its other reality programs last month, noticeably absent was ”The Bachelor,” its long-running reality dating show, which sees 25 women vying for the heart of a handsome bachelor. That’s because a search was underway for a new executive producer and showrunner following the exit of Claire Freeland and Bennett Graebner, who left in March after accusations of a “toxic” and “hostile” work environment.
On Monday, the network renewed the series for a milestone 30th season and named Scott Teti (“Bachelor in Paradise”) as the show’s new showrunner and executive producer.
If Teti sounds familiar to Bachelor Nation fans, that’s because he was named showrunner and executive producer of “Bachelor in Paradise” in January. He previously worked as an executive producer of ABC’s “Claim to Fame” and Bravo’s “Summer House,” as well as several iterations of the “Married At First Sight” franchise.
“Bachelor in Paradise” launches with its 10th season on Monday, July 7 with Jesse Palmer returning as host.
Teti began his career as an editor before joining 51 Minds Entertainment, producers of such shows as “Flavor of Love” and “Rock of Love.” He was also the showrunner for the first season of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” before later serving as an executive producer on other popular reality shows, including “Spy Games,” “Winter House,” “Married At First Sight: Couples’ Cam” and “Unmatchables,” among other series.
