As part of the show’s upcoming ninth season, actors Sullivan Jones (“The Gilded Age,” “Harlem”), Darone Okolie (“All American,” “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty”) and Walnette Marie Santiago (“Doom Patrol,” “BMF”) have joined the cast of “Tyler Perry’s Sistas,” it was announced on Thursday.
According to Deadline, the newcomers will appear in a recurring capacity with Okolie playing the role of Roc and Sullivan appearing as Dr. Vaughn, both of whom are set as love interests for the sistas. Meanwhile, Santiago will play the role of Nia.
The series follows a tight-knit group of accomplished and relatable women as they navigate the complexities of love, career, and friendship in the modern world, with Season 9 promising even more emotional depth, unexpected revelations, and powerful narratives that have made the show a fan favorite.
In March, “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” was renewed for a ninth season by BET, set to premiere Wednesday, July 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Production recently concluded in Atlanta.
In the Season 8 finale, Andi (KJ Smith) must decide whether or not she wants to make things work with Robin (Austin Scott) before he possibly walks out of her life forever. Sabrina (Novi Brown) finally gets closure from an old lover on the heels of having to decide what to do with her and Rich (Monti Washington). Karen (Ebony Obsidian) and Fatima (Crystal Renee’ Hayslett) become closer than they ever imagined. And Gary’s (Chido Nwokocha) investigation comes to a head with shocking revelations.

According to BET, the series was the No. 1 show on all of television among Black viewers aged 18-49 in 2024, additionally, it is the No. 1 scripted series on cable among Black viewers overall.
