BET kicks off Season 1 marathon of “Beyond the Gates” episodes on Thursday, March 5, beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET, as part of new T.G.I.G. (Thank Goodness It’s Gates) weekly programming block.
BET+ has ordered “Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas,” a spinoff of “Tyler Perry’s Sistas,” which stars LeToya Luckett, Robert Christopher Riley (“Beyond the Gates”) and Porscha Coleman, among others.
Sullivan Jones, Darone Okoli and Walnette Marie Santiago have joined the cast of “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” in recurring roles starting with the show’s ninth season.
Following news of his exit from “Days of our Lives” to join “Beyond the Gates” as a breakdown writer, Jamey Giddens also announces he’s exited “Tyler Perry’s Sistas.”
There will be a ninth season of “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” after BET announces the show’s been renewed, with the new season premiering Wednesday, July 16.
For what is understood to be a limited time, cable network BET will carry encores of at least the first ten episodes of “Beyond the Gates” in primetime.
The upcoming eighth season of “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” will see a shift in the writers room with Jamey Giddens (Ambitions,” “Days of our Lives”) named head writer.
BET announced earlier this week that it has signed a deal with ABC Studios which enables the cable network to begin airing seasons one and two of ABC’s primetime drama series, “Scandal.” The network is expected to begin airing said episodes sometime in the summer. Additionally, BET has also licensed the rights to air current season episodes beginning with season three. Each episode will air on BET no earlier than eight days after its original broadcast on ABC.
