While two of the three daytime broadcast soaps saw some recovery among Total Viewers, all three were down among Women 18-49 during the week of August 26-30, 2024. That said, each show did see an increase among unrounded Women 25-54.

For the week, “The Young and the Restless” averaged 2.941 million viewers, up +139,000 viewers week-to-week but down -34,000 viewers compared to the same week last year. The soap was back in the lead among unrounded Women 18-49, pulling in a 0.24 rating after falling to second place behind “The Bold and the Beautiful” for the previous two weeks. Overall, the hour-long soap ended up in a three-way tie among rounded Women 18-49, each pulling a 0.2 rating.

Averaging 2.621 million viewers, “The Bold and the Beautiful” saw a week-to-week increase among Total Viewers, up +49,000 viewers. Compared to the same week last year, the soap was also up +22,000 viewers. The soap fell behind “The Young and the Restless” among rounded Women 18-49 (0.23 rating vs. 0.24 rating) after topping its sister soap the previous two weeks in the key sales demographic.

Marking its 20th consecutive week below two million viewers, ABC’s “General Hospital” averaged just 1.910 million viewers for the week, down -45,000 viewers from last week and down -28,000 viewers compared to the same week last year. Among both rounded/unrounded Women 18-49 the show pulled in a 0.2 rating, down -0.01 from last week and compared to its performance during the same week last year (0.20 vs. 0.21).

Among unrounded Women 25-54, “The Young and the Restless” hit a 10-week high with its 0.47 rating, followed by “The Bold and the Beautiful” with a 0.42 rating and “General Hospital” with a 0.33 rating. Among rounded Women 25-54, the Genoa City-set series pulled a 0.5 rating, followed by “The Bold and the Beautiful” with its 0.4 rating and “General Hospital” with a 0.3 rating. Each soap was virtually on par with their year ago performances among rounded/unrounded Women 25-54.
