THE NUMBERS

Gaining the most viewers week-to-week (+111,000 viewers) and one of only two shows to see increases year-to-year (+33,000 viewers), “The View” (2.379 million) was the big winner among Total Viewers during the week of November 7-11, 2022.

Overall, with the midterms leading the week’s hot topics discussion, the talk show was flat across the board in the key demos while managing a slight uptick in Women 25-54 rating (+0.1) compared to the same week last year. Meanwhile, “The Talk” (1.340 million) was on the downside, attracting its lowest overall audience of the season and losing the most viewers week-to-week, down -105,000 viewers. In the key sales demos, “The Talk” was neck and neck with “NBC News Daily” (1.116 million) in actuals (0.17 vs 0.16 in W18-49 rating; 0.29 vs. 0.25 in W25-54 rating), both tied for last place with “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.518 million) in Women 18-49 (rounded to 0.2 rating) and Women 25-54 (rounded to 0.3 rating). “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” (1.568 million) also tied for last place in Women 18-49 rating.

Speaking of “GMA3” and “NBC News Daily,” the former was up in Total Viewers year-to-year (+1,000 viewers) while the latter was up week-to-week (+92,000 viewers). Another week-to-week gainer was “General Hospital” (2.151 million) which was +78,000 viewers for the week. The same could be said for “Let’s Make a Deal” (2.306 million / 2.703 million) which was also on the plus side week-to-week, gaining +47,000 viewers and +52,000 viewers, respectively. 

The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.904 million), “The Young and the Restless” (3.332 million) and “GH” were the only daytime broadcast shows to see an increase compared to their performance in 2020, up +122,000 viewers, +177,000 viewers and +45,000 viewers, respectively.

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of November 7-11, 2022 in Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance in 2021 and 2020, respectively. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance in the demos, will be posted on Thursday.

Note: “NBC News Daily” year ago and 2020 figures are compared to the performance of “Days of our Lives.”
