During the week of October 3-7, 2022, the third full week of the 2022-2023 daytime broadcast television season, CBS soaps “The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.897 million) and “The Young and the Restless” (3.297 million) rebounded, with the latter up from one week earlier and the former posting its best performance among Total Viewers since the week of August 8-12, 2022. The same can be said for “The Price is Right” (3.774 million / 4.293 million), which also had its best performance among viewers since the same week in August. Compared to the same week last year, however, the CBS shows were down, with the second half-hour of “Price” losing the most, down -333,000 viewers.

Also losing viewers was “NBC News Daily” (1.069 million) which had the most significant week-to-week drop, down -243,000 viewers, marking its first week-to-week decrease since its mid-September launch. The news program was also off -550,000 viewers from the performance of “Days of our Lives” compared to the same week last year and down -644,000 from the soap opera’s performance in 2020. Further, after dropping the gap between it and “The Talk” (1.357 million) to just under 50,000 viewers last week, the gap widened to +288,000 viewers in favor of CBS’ talk show. In the key sales demos, “NBC News Daily” managed to beat “The Talk” in Women 25-54 viewers (107,000 vs. 104,000) while “The Talk” fended off “NBC News Daily” in Women 18-49 viewers (169,000 vs. 145,000).

TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” (1.544 million) had its best performance against “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.546 million) in quite a while, with just 2,000 viewers separating the two among Total Viewers. Meanwhile, “The View” (2.222 million) had its best performance this season among Total Viewers, continuing to rank as the highest-rated and most-watched show season to date among daytime broadcast/syndicated talk shows and news programs.

General Hospital” (2.119 million) was down year to year and week to week among Total Viewers but saw an increase over its comparable performance in 2020, gaining +96,000 viewers. Only two other daytime broadcast shows also saw increases compared to 2020, including “Y&R” (+219,000 viewers) and “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” (+35,000 viewers).
