THE NUMBERS

Updated January 6, 2022: With the unrounded numbers now available for Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating, several ties were broken.

Originally tied for number one in Women 25-54 with rounded figures, “The Young and the Restless” (0.66 rating) ranked second overall and was just 0.01 ratings points behind the second half-hour of “The Price is Right” (0.67 rating) which owned first place all to itself. Similarly, both shows were tied for first in Women 18-49 but are now separated by 0.03 ratings points with the second half-hour placing first (0.42 rating) followed by “TODAY 3rd Hour” (0.41 rating) in second place and “Y&R” (0.39 rating) placing third.

Previous December 29, 2021: During the week of December 13-17, 2021 (week 13 of the 2021-2022 television season), CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” hit a new season low for the third consecutive week. Even still, the show remains up compared to its year ago performance in Total Viewers (+399,000). “The Bold and the Beautiful” fell behind the second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” in Total Viewers for the first time this season. The soap placed fifth for the week while still on the plus side compared to the one year earlier in Total Viewers (+225,000). “Y&R” and “B&B” were the only daytime broadcast programs up compared to the same week last year in Total Viewers.

Week to week, viewers tuned in to play games with the second half-hour of “The Price is Right” (+136,000 viewers) and the first half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” (+49,000 viewers) both on the plus side compared to one week earlier. Also up were “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (+11,000 viewers) and “The Talk” (+6,000 viewers). The first half-hour of “The Price is Right” hit a new season low for the second consecutive week.

Total Viewers and Households for “TODAY 3rd Hour” and “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” were unavailable at press time. The 2019 comparison figures for “GMA3: What You Need to Know” are based on the performance of “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke”* which aired at the time.
