FOX Announces ‘Joe Millionaire’ Reboot with a Twist

FOX is bringing back its popular "Joe Millionaire" franchise but with a twist. Find out how the network plans to revive the megahit series nearly 20 years after it took the TV world by storm.

Based on the popular reality series which was the network’s answer to “The Bachelor” back in 2003 when it first debuted, the new “Joe Millionaire” features two single men with one HUGE difference: One’s a millionaire, and the other is definitely NOT – he’s just an “average Joe.” Twenty women will date both of them, but they will have no idea which Joe is rich.  As love connections are made and each guy finds his perfect match, the women must ask themselves what is more important…Love or Money? The series is set to debut in January.

In announcing the new iteration, Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment & Specials, FOX Entertainment, said, “This revival of ‘Joe Millionaire’ represents a potent combination: one of the most innovative and popular dating shows of all time with SallyAnn Salsano, who ranks among the most fearless producers in the business.” He added, “I’ve long admired ‘Joe Millionaire’ for its daring premise, and since the moment I joined FOX, I’ve wanted to bring it back in the spotlight in a whole new way for both new viewers and fans of the original.”

The original “Joe Millionaire” debuted in 2003, marking the highest-rated and most-watched debut season for an unscripted series of the past 20 years. The first season finale episode remains the highest-rated and most-watched unscripted entertainment series telecast of the past two decades (excluding post-NFL) with 42.6 million viewers tuning in and remains FOX’s biggest entertainment broadcast of all time.
