Congratulations are in order for soap stars Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra, “The Young and the Restless”) and Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos, “General Hospital”) who tied the knot on Saturday, October 23 in Malibu, CA surrounded by friends and family, including several co-stars from each of their respective soaps. The wedding’s theme was a mix of gothic, victorian, and steampunk with the bride and groom both wearing red as shown in images shared across social media by invited guests.
“Thank you to everyone that came out last night to celebrate @duelly and me. We love you all so much, ” said Hope in a post on her Instagram stories. She used the “skull” and “red rose” emojis. She added, “And thank you guys for committing so hard to our Goth theme! The amount of black nail polish, guy [eye] liner, chokers, corsets and canes were more than we could’ve asked for.” She ended the post with two “clapping hands” emojis.
From “The Bold and the Beautiful,” where Hope got her start on soaps (also playing Sally), guests included Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan), Katrina Bowden (Flo Fulton), Annika Noelle (Hope Logan) and Patrika Darbo (Shirley Spectra), among others. Guests from “General Hospital” included Duell’s co-stars Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos), Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), Eden McCoy (Josselyn Jacks), Katelyn MacMullen (Willow Tait) and Wes Ramsey (Peter August), among others, and from “The Young and the Restless” guests included Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore Baldwin) and Hunter King (ex-Summer Newman), among others.
The couple had their first dance to the song “Yours (Wedding Edition)” by Russell Dickerson.

On Valentine’s Day, Duell popped the question to Hope. She shared the news on Instagram the next day, saying, “Yesterday was a good day.” Using a smiling face and ring emojis, she referenced being “happily engaged.” She further stated, “Forever with this man is a dream come true.” She used the hashtag “umHellyes.”
On his Instagram page, Duell said of engagement, “I’m one lucky dude.” He used the hashtags “shesaidyes” and “engaged” along with the “heart” and “ring” emojis.
Duell and Hope met at a party in 2016 courtesy of Duell’s former “GH” co-star Bryan Craig (ex-Morgan Corinthos). We started talking about music, agriculture — real things,” Hope said of their relationship in a joint interview with Soaps In Depth. “And at parties in L.A., that’s not uncommon.” Duell said to the publication of their initial meeting, “I wanted to hang out with her but part of me knew I would end up dating her. I guess I was scared.” Thankfully, Hope gave him a final chance and now they’re happily married.
Congrats to the happy couple!
