Johnny DiMera is back in Salem, and he’s been aged up in the form of actor Carson Boatman who makes his daytime debut playing the son of Sami (Alison Sweeney) and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) on “Days of our Lives” beginning Wednesday, August 18. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect and your first look photos.

In Johnny’s return, look for the character to mix things up with a surprise visit with his father while also sharing a good old time with his new drinking buddy, Chanel Price (Raven Bowens). Also, look for EJ to try and get Chad (Billy Flynn) to convince Johnny to take a job at DiMera. 

By week’s end, Johnny will have reunited with his twin sister, Allie (Lindsay Arnold), who is happy to see her brother after all this time. However, she might soon regret that feeling when she sees who he’s been spending his time with…

Did You Know? Even though Johnny and Allie were born at the same time and share the same mother, they do not share the same father. Allie is the daughter of Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) and Johnny is the son of the aforementioned EJ DiMera.

In talking about his casting, Boatman said on Instagram, “I absolutely could not be more grateful, humbled, and excited to begin this new journey and to bring Johnny to life on screen!”

Weeks before his “DAYS” arrival, PEOPLE shared highlights from Boatman’s July wedding to model Julana Dizon. The “ecstatic” actor told the pub, “We couldn’t be happier. It’s been a long year and so we’re excited to kind of get it behind us and top it off with us tying the knot.”
