Although her character technically departed Salem on the Monday, March 22 episode of “Days of our Lives,” courtesy of Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), fans will get one last chance to see actress Linsey Godfrey in the role of Sarah Horton on the daytime drama series, albeit briefly.

As viewers recall, Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) is still distraught over “Sarah’s” decision to break up with him to pursue her feelings for Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder). What he doesn’t know is that at the time he caught Sarah in bed with Rex on the Friday, March 19 episode, it was actually Kristen disguised as Sarah. Therefore, it was Kristen who broke up with him, not Sarah. Meanwhile, the real Sarah was being held captive by Kristen in a wine cellar. If that doesn’t make things twisty enough, “Sarah” (Kristen) also broke things off with Rex outside of the Brady Pub just when the two were supposed to run off together. Rex, however, didn’t know that the real Sarah was locked inside the trunk he mistook for “Sarah’s” getaway luggage. “Whoa. When you said you needed to grab a few things, you weren’t kidding,” he joked before getting the unexpected breakup news.

As for how the storyline continues, on the Monday, March 29 episode, Xander extends his week’s long drunken stupor. Not only will he attack Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) while inebriated he’ll also envision that Sarah is still around. And with that, Godfrey’s run on “DAYS” will conclude after just under three years in the role. The actress first appeared on the soap in October 2018 but filmed her first scenes several months prior.

“It’s truly been a pleasure,” said Godfrey following news of her exit coming to light. “A massive thank you to ‘Days of our Lives’ for the opportunity to play Sarah and all 86 of her hairstyles. Thank you to casting, production, and the crew! Also thank you to the amazing cast I got to work with! I have made some lifelong friends that I cherish.”
