The Winters family on “The Young and the Restless” will soon be gaining a new member. The daytime soap opera has cast actor Jacob Aaron Gaines in the role of Moses Winters, the son of the late Neil Winters (the late Kristoff St. John) and Sofia Dupre (last played by Julia Pace Mitchell).

New to daytime, Moses most recently had a supporting role in the Netflix film “Fatal Affair” opposite Omar Epps and Nia Long (ex-Kathryn Speakes, “Guiding Light”) and has appeared in over six national commercials.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Gaines told the publication, “I’m honored to be playing Neil’s son and to show ‘Y&R’ fans a little piece of him.” He added, “I’m thrilled to be able to do that. Kristoff’s story hit me pretty hard and I’m sure I won’t understand the true gravity of it until I’m further into playing Moses. For now, it’s a huge privilege for me.”

Look for Moses to arrive in Genoa City as he connects with older siblings Lily (Christel Khalil) and Devon (Bryton James) and his cousin, Nate (Sean Dominic).  He first airs on Thursday, April 1.

Prior to Gaines being cast, the role of Moses Winters was last played by child actor Randall L. Smith.
