Denise Alexander Reprising Role of Lesley Webber on 'General Hospital'

With much discussion about Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) family heritage taking center stage on “General Hospital” now that she recently acquired two paternal half brothers — Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) — it’s only fitting that Lesley Webber would return to Port Charles to answer some of Laura’s most pressing questions in the form of portrayer Denise Alexander.

According to Soap Opera Digest, which first reported the news, Alexander has been tapped to reprise the role she originated in 1973. No airdate has been announced, however.

Last appearing on the soap during its 56th anniversary episode in 2019, Alexander portrayed Lesley starting in 1973 until her departure in 1984. She returned to the role in 1996 when the Cassadine storyline was revisited with the addition of Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) as Laura’s then-unknown son who she gave up in order to protect him and her family. Alexander played the part off and on until 2009 before again reprising the role for brief appearances in 2013 and 2017, respectively.
