Donny Boaz who portrays Chance Chancellor on “The Young and the Restless” announced earlier today that he recently had to take a short break from filming due to a COVID-positive diagnosis. He will be temporarily replaced in the role by Justin Gaston (ex-Ben Weston, “Days of our Lives”), the real-life husband of Melissa Ordway who portrays Chance’s love interest Abby Newman on the soap.

“I have a little news that I need to share,” began Boaz in an Instagram post. “A few weeks ago, I tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, I did not have any symptoms. In following guidelines, I quarantined at home so you may not see me on ‘Y&R’ for a bit. I’m happy to say I’ve returned to work and will be back on the air very soon. Thank you for your continued support.”

It was announced that Gaston will debut in the role during the week of November 23, and should appear in a batch of episodes until Boaz is back on-screen.
