If you tuned into the Monday, November 23 episode of “General Hospital” you might have seen Dev Cerci succumb to his injuries after The Floating Rib exploded, injuring many others but leaving Dev and Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) among the dead. In a goodbye message to fans on social media, Dev’s portrayer, Ashton Arbab, thanked the show for the opportunity of portraying the character and the chance to work alongside some of daytime’s most veteran performers.

“I am forever grateful to [executive] producer Frank Valentini and [casting director] Mark Teschner for this amazing opportunity,” said Arbab in a Twitter message he posted earlier today. “It was such an honor to have worked alongside of such talented actors and I’m beyond blessed for your friendship. Most of all, thank you ‘General Hospital’ fans!”

In Dev’s final moments, he thanks Sonny (Maurice Benard) for bringing him into his family and to tell Josslyn (Eden McCoy) that he was sorry before taking his last breath.

Arbab joined the cast of “GH” in March 2019 as Dev, a Turkish teenager who was caught stealing in order to survive as an illegal immigrant in the United States. He was given protection by Sonny, complete with a fabricated family as a result. Lucky for him his fake father, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), who initially was thought to be dead until he turned up very much alive, agreed to continue the charade in order to protect Dev from deportation, among other circumstances.

This year, Arbab could also be seen in the Netflix film “The Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting” and the Disney Channel series “Raven’s Home.”
