THE NUMBERS

For our second week of providing delayed viewership numbers across daytime broadcast, we decided to include Men 18+ Viewers and the Adults 18-49 rating into our charts. The latter is the sales demo for primetime television and can give a clearer picture as to how the daytime audience compares to the more widely viewed programming hours on the broadcast networks.

The week of April 27-May 1, 2020 marked the beginning of reruns on CBS with both “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” airing classic episodes. For the week, “Y&R” heralded “Katherine The Great” while “B&B” returned to Monte Carlo. “General Hospital,” despite some losses in delayed viewers across the board compared to the prior week, remained the biggest gainer in total viewers and across all key demos. “Days of our Lives” was the second biggest gainer in delayed viewers.

As per usual, “The Today Show II,” “Today with Hoda & Jenna” and “Pandemic: What You Need to Know” did poorly in delayed viewership. “The Talk” remains the least-watched across the board.
