‘As The World Turns’ Alum Billy Magnussen Joins ‘Bond 25’ Cast

Billy Magnussen (ex-Casey Hughes, "As The World Turns") has joined the cast of "Bond 25," the 25th outing in the 007 feature film franchise.

In a live reveal across social media on Thursday morning, MGM announced that “As The World Turns” alum Billy Magnussen (ex-Casey Hughes) will be joining a host of others in “Bond 25,” the iconic 007 character’s 25th feature outing.

Although character details have yet to be released for Magnussen, soap fans can rest assured knowing it’ll be an excellent opportunity for the actor who has appeared in numerous theatricals in recent years, including “Into the Woods,” “Game Night” and “Ingrid Goes West,” among others. On the TV side, Magnussen has dabbled between comedy, drama and horror. Most recently he starred in the CBS All Access original series “Tell Me a Story” and Netflix’s “Maniac,” and has appeared in episodes of “The Bold Type,” “Black Mirror,” “Friends from College,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace.” The actor can next be seen in the live adaptation of Disney’s “Aladdin,” set for release May 24, 2019. He plays Prince Anders in the film that also stars Will Smith as the Genie.

In addition to Magnussen, newcomers to the Bond universe include actors Ana De Armas, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Rami Malek, and Dali Benssalah. They join a cast led by Daniel Craig, who plays the titular character, and “Bond” veterans Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Jeffrey Wright and Léa Seydoux.

With filming commencing in Jamaica, “Bond 25” will also explore the worlds of Norway, London and Italy, producers announced.

The film, written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is set for release in theaters on April 8, 2020. Cary Joji Fukunaga is the director.
