With multiple comments in recent weeks noting how small of a decrease the daytime soaps are experiencing compared to their primetime counterparts in year-to-year comparisons, despite how severe it may seem, we thought it would be a great opportunity to indicate how each drama series rates in the key Adults 18-49 sales demo. Although Women 25-54 is the primary sales demo for daytime television these days, with Women 18-49 taking a solid second, primetime rates are primarily bought and sold with the Adults 18-49 demo in mind.
When looking at the numbers, it’s interesting to see how “The Young and the Restless” out rates several shows on The CW each day while even shows on the ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX primetime schedules aren’t too far off from what “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of our Lives” and “General Hospital” rate each week.
With that said, listed below is a breakdown of how “The Bold and the Beautiful” (B&B) on CBS, “Days of our Lives” (DAYS) on NBC, “General Hospital” (GH) on ABC and “The Young and the Restless” (Y&R) on CBS performed, from highest to lowest, in the all-important ratings categories during the week of November 26-30, 2018.
