When “General Hospital” went on its three-week production hiatus, several of its stars headed off to exotic beaches, reunited with family they hadn’t seen in some time or chose to stay in town to complete personal projects. But for Scarlett Fernandez, who plays Charlotte Cassadine on the soap, she spent some of her time in the hospital. Now recovered, Fernandez is ready to get back to work when production resumes on Monday, July 24.
“Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. Feeling much better,” wrote Fernandez on Twitter this weekend. “Back to
#scarlettischarlotte next week! #gh #GeneralHospital.”
It was on Thursday, July 13 when Fernandez revealed on her Instagram page that while enjoying time off from “GH” she was forced into the hospital and treated for a double ear infection and pneumonia. “Who goes on vacation and gets a double ear infection and pneumonia? This girl!!!” wrote the actress, who also shared a photo taken after completing a chest X-ray.

Who goes on vacation and gets a double ear infection and pneumonia? This girl!!! This picture was taken right after my chest X-ray and right before the most painful shots I've ever had in my life. I'm hoping the medicine kicks in and I can enjoy the last few days of my vacation. Until then, its rest, rest, rest! #sick #besturgentcaredr #medicine
Now that her portrayer is out of the hospital and well rested, we look forward to seeing what’s next for the young Cassadine child.
