With news that Pop will now air same-day rebroadcast episodes of NBC’s “Days of our Lives,” along with the already airing rebroadcasts of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless,” one can only wonder if the the network may have plans of airing rebroadcasts of ABC’s “General Hospital” as well. Sadly, that’s not the case.
When contacted, a rep for Pop tells Soap Opera Network, “[There are] no plans to air ‘General Hospital.'” Meanwhile, for those looking for classic episodes of “DAYS” on Pop, or a marathon of episodes leading up to the show’s 50th anniversary later this year, the rep also states there are no plans to air episodes from the archives “but we are thrilled to have ‘DAYS’ come to Pop.”
Pop has emerged as a modern-day soap fan’s dream with the aforementioned “B&B,” “DAYS” and “Y&R” on the lineup. In addition to the daytime soaps, Pop also airs rebroadcasts of “Dynasty,” “Melrose Place,” and “Beverly Hills, 90210.” The network’s flagship scripted series, “Schitt’s Creek” tells the story of a former soap actress and her husband who lose all their money and are forced to live in a Podunk town they bought as a joke.
The network aired “The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” earlier this year and is committed to airing it again next year.
