EMMYS FASHION: The Who, What and Whys of Emmy Night

If you think picking out an outfit for work in the morning is stressful, imagine what it would be like if your work was going to the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, where swarms of reporters and photographers were going to capture your every detail! Stressful, yes. But also ridiculously fun! Soap Opera Network caught up with some of daytime’s hottest stars on the red carpet during the exciting event, and they spilled details on who they were wearing and why they chose the specific looks they did. “Our costume designer sent me to this warehouse mecca of amazing dresses in downtown LA. I went in with my sister, and I was looking around, and there were a million dresses, and this one was hanging up, and I said, ‘I want a dress like that. Actually, I just want that one! Ok, there you go, we’re done!’ It was exactly what I was looking for.”

“I was like, look, let me get something I could perhaps wear as a tux and maybe as a suit. That was my motive.”

“This year and last year, they let me go to their showroom and borrow something from their fall line, so I know it’s not out yet, which is always good. It really is beautiful. I went for a different look this year. I’ve been doing an up-do the past few years, and truthfully, I love an up-do: You don’t mess with it, it doesn’t fall, the curl doesn’t straighten. But I feel like you’ve got to switch it up.”
