EXCLUSIVE: Life hasn’t exactly been easy for “All My Children’s” Miranda Montgomery, and her portrayer, Denyse Tontz, revealed to Soap Opera Network that the teen’s life is about to get even crazier!
She’s got a lesbian mother, a budding crush on her childhood best friend and has no idea that she’s the product of rape. Yep, that pretty much sums up life for Bianca’s (Eden Riegel) daughter, who’s still trying to figure out who she is in the madness of her Pine Valley life. “I know she’ll be coming into her own pretty soon,” Tontz says of what’s ahead. “There’s a storyline developing that everybody is talking about, which is that she doesn’t know who her paternal dad is, so it’ll be interesting to see that develop.”
Finding out that the devilish Michael Cambias is her father most likely won’t sit well with the teen. But could the reveal bring Miranda and Bianca closer together? After all, the pair used to be super close, and now they fight more than the Chandlers and the Cortlandts combined! “I noticed that some of the fans were a little POed about [Miranda and Bianca not getting along], but it’s what happens in real life,” the actress says in defense of the tense mother/daughter relationship. “But I’m sure they’re going to resolve their issues. They always do. And there’s always going to be turmoil, but we love each other and always will.”
Meanwhile, Miranda is also dealing with conflicting feelings regarding her childhood best friend, AJ (Eric Nelsen). “As you know, they kissed, and she decided to write it off, because she didn’t want to jeopardize the friendship,” Tontz says. “But things happen, and sometimes feelings change.”
So does that mean the two will eventually get together? “I can’t give too much away, but I know there’s definitely a huge plot twist coming, a little different from what people are expecting,” the actress teases. “I know what people are expecting, and I can tell you, it’s much different. But it’s going to be exciting. It’ll be really cool.”
