On the Wednesday, October 7, 2026, episode of ‘Beyond the Gates’, Mount Andre blew its top, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) took some responsibility, and Marcel (Darryl W. Handy) was ready to dole out dirty deeds done dirt cheap.

Everybody Makes A Mistake

Izaiah (Lami) found Eva (Ambyr Michelle) at Orphey Gene’s and told her about the money he’d won betting against Elon. Eva was glad that Izaiah was bonding with his father, but lamented that bonding with Kat no longer seemed possible. Izaiah told Eva he had run into Kat, and that they had discussed the ideas people were getting about them. Before Eva could fully comment, she got a text from Ted and had to go, prompting Izaiah to ask if he could work from Eva’s place.

After Izaiah found Leslie on Eva’s couch watching her stories, Leslie asked if Izaiah was ready to put a ring on Eva’s finger. Izaiah said he and Leslie still hadn’t reached that point, and Leslie admitted she wanted “angelic grandbabies.” Catching herself, Leslie admitted she just wanted Eva to have the marriage she couldn’t have for herself, and when the subject turned to Kat, Leslie granted that she had been the one to turn Eva against Kat since childhood.

However, when Izaiah mentioned that people saw him and Kat as a couple, Leslie barked, “Hell, no,” promising that Kat would face her wrath if she made a move on her daughter’s boyfriend. Eva returned home and announced she had been asked to attend the Pacific Northwest Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetics Conference in Ted’s place; once Leslie left, Izaiah helped Eva pack and swore she was the only one he had eyes for.

I’m Not Havin’ It

Dani (Karla Mosley) visited Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), sharing Jacob’s concern that Hayley might go after Naomi. Bill promised that Hayley would be taken care of and acknowledged that he wouldn’t be alive had Dani not put it together about Hayley poisoning him. The exes hugged, then quickly, self-consciously broke the embrace.

Meanwhile, Andre (Sean Freeman) sat down with Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and complained about Dani always hovering around Bill. Ted advised Andre to talk to Dani and not keep things bottled up, something Ted had done and that had ruined his marriage to Nicole when he turned to Leslie.

Andre was less than affectionate when Dani came home and became upset when Dani admitted she had just been to see Bill. When Dani insisted it had been because of family matters, Andre yelled that he was Dani’s family, which he said didn’t seem to mean anything to her. Plus, Andre observed, every time Dani vowed she would stay away from Bill, there always seemed to be another reason for her to tend to him. Dani looked worried when Andre said he was sick of her disrespecting him and their marriage.

Thuggish Ruggish Bone

Vernon (Clifton Davis) entered Bill’s office, wanting to know how Hayley could have found out about Martin accidentally killing a man to defend him. Bill sighed that Hayley had recorded their conversations but avowed that he had “put moves in place” to keep Hayley contained. Furthermore, Bill announced that he had retained a private investigator to dig into Hayley’s past. After what happened to Kenny, Vernon didn’t want any more dead bodies on their hands and took charge, reminding Bill it would give him plausible deniability.

Bill’s next visitor was Jacob (Jibre Hordges), who didn’t sit right with Bill letting Hayley go free, especially with all the evidence stacked against her. Jacob sensed Hayley had forced Bill’s hand, but Bill neither confirmed nor denied it. When Jacob worried that Hayley might go after Naomi for creating the opening that let Dani snoop around her house, Bill promised Naomi wouldn’t be harmed, but added that Jacob needed to tend to his own business and leave Bill to his.

Kidnap Who

Hayley (Marquita Goings) sobbed and tried to scream as Marcel prepared to cut into her. Just then, Vernon entered and told Marcel that his orders had been changed. Hayley was grateful to Vernon for saving her, but he retorted that he might still let Marcel do what he wanted, since Hayley would have shot Dani without hesitation. After Hayley squealed that she had only been bluffing about blackmailing Bill with the tapes about Martin’s cover-up, she offered to turn them over, but that wasn’t good enough for Vernon.

When Vernon began talking about his considerable reach as a former senator, Hayley realized that if Vernon publicized what she had done, people from her past would recognize her and come looking for her. Vernon told Hayley she could save herself by giving up any co-conspirators, so she named Randy, swearing that her cousin had chosen all her marks and decided Hayley should blackmail Bill.

Once Vernon left, Marcel got a text from Joey reading, “Mission aborted.” Marcel released Hayley and drove her to Uptown, where Leslie saw her and asked why she was coming out of her man’s car. The rattled Hayley offered no explanation and hurried inside for a drink, but Leslie wasn’t satisfied with the non-answer and followed Hayley in.

Regulate

Joey summoned Elon (Malachi Malik) and Bill, who were both horrified that Joey had put a hit on Hayley. While Bill had no sympathy for his victimizer, he felt that Hayley’s sudden disappearance would reflect poorly on him, and Elon agreed that it would generate more questions than answers. Elon told Joey that “Hayley Lawson” wasn’t her real name, and Bill said his private investigator had confirmed that discovery. Vernon joined the men and revealed that Hayley would keep the info about Martin to herself as long as Bill gave her the $1 million and house in St. Bart’s, as he’d said he would.

After Elon departed, one of Joey’s henchmen brought Randy in, saying he had caught Randy at the train station. Randy handed over a backpack and declared he had only been to a locker at the station, one of several places around town where he and Hayley had hidden things; he begged Joey to believe that he’d been trying to find Hayley’s recordings. Joey found a fake passport in the backpack in the name of “Blythe Fairbrook”; Randy nodded that was to be the name of Hayley’s next persona.

His cover blown by Vernon, Randy was forced to admit that he was Hayley’s cousin, but he denied her claim that much of their operation had been his idea. Joey wanted time alone with Randy to handle their “HR issue”; he scowled that “Vanessa and her kids” liking Randy was the only reason Randy was still breathing. Randy professed that he would do whatever Joey wanted to prove his loyalty – to which Joey replied that Randy would “end up like your friend Doug” if Randy betrayed him again.
