IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Natalie listens to the tape of Marty admitting John is really Liam’s father. She tries to call John but he doesn’t pick up. She takes the baby and sets out to find John. Kelly finds a vengeful and crazy Marty in John’s room, determined to let Kelly know once and for all that John belongs to her. When things get out of hand, Kelly grabs a knife and Marty advances on her with a broken bottle. Natalie arrives looking for John, and she finds an unlocked, empty apartment John listens to Natalie’s urgent phone message and ignores it.

Brody arrests Tess for attempted murder of Ford. They spar and ultimately Brody tells her he’s played it safe too long. He’s going to make her remember she’s Jessica and kisses her. Cutter enters and tells him to get his hands off his wife. As they argue, Tess struggles internally and Cutter and Brody are not sure whether she’s Jess or Tess and to their shock, she’s neither. Cutter comes clean with Joey (and Aubrey) that he’s married Tess to get the Buchanan money. He doesn’t out Aubrey as his lover or his co-con, after she privately begs him not to. Cutter tells Joey to let Clint know his terms — he’ll commit Jessica if they pay him gazillions. When Cutter leaves, Aubrey swears she didn’t know Cutter came to town to con the Buchanan’s. But we see Joey doesn’t believe her.

John visits Todd and asks him about the file Kelly and Blair found in his desk. Todd claims no knowledge of it and insists Tomas is his would-be killer. John also tells Todd about the CIA connection to Tomas and proposes that both Todd and Tomas have something to hide. Blair visits Tomas and she wants to trust him but is very conflicted. Tomas swears he didn’t shoot Todd, but can’t explain why Todd saw him. He asks Blair to trust him even though he can’t tell her certain things. He gives her leave to walk away from him if she can’t take it.
