WHAT DO YOU THINK?
  • mikey970

New Billy looks as old as Jack… the hits and more misses keep coming for the young and the dumb

    • clare

Billy & Jill scenes were AWKWARD!!! They look around the same age almost. They looked like they wanted to bone.

  • MattArmando

GENERAL HOSPITAL was the ONLY soap to GAIN in ALL demos AND total viewers over last year. Absolutely incredible. GO GH.

    • Andrew Hass

I also think it’s great for GH.Plus they are in either 1st or 2nd place in all 3 demos.Week to week ratings go up and down all the time but the better way to gauge how a soap is doing is to how they are doing over time.

      • nyvoter

Yes, and in addition, what affects their total is often Friday. Ratings for soaps are compiled on live and same day, which means a DVR viewing must take place on the same day the soap was broadcast to be counted. Since a younger audience may still be working, on Friday .. with the weekend ahead of them … they often may not view on Friday, thus always lowering that day. But #GH overall is doing great … and they deserve it.

        • Andrew Hass

Plus GH has mostly always had bad ratings on Fridays for some reason.Plus the show had 2 days that week of over 3 million viewers and i don’t think that’s happened in a long time.

          • JayTN

Really? It only happened the previous week (June 16). GH was above 3 million on Monday (6/16) and Tuesday (6/17).

          • JayTN

Really? It happened just the week before (week of June 16) when GH was above 3 million viewers on Monday (6/16) and Tuesday (6/17).

          • nyvoter

You are right, Jay; it just happened that week

          • nyvoter

I agree with you, Jay, it happened the week before as you stated

          • JayTN

Really? It only happened the previous week (June 16) when GH had 3 million + viewers on Monday (6/16) and Tuesday (6/17).

PS. To the person/persons who keep deleting this post, I will continue to repost it every time it is deleted, as it contains nothing that would warrant a removal.

          • nyvoter

I can totally understand your frustration, Jay. And I am doing the same thing (reposting each time posts are deleted) since they contain nothing to warrant a removal. Actually, for me it is every single post, so I just keep putting them back in. *)

          • http://unknown.com Bexx

And in return you are spamming the board. I’m confused why you think a moderated commented deserves to be posted despite a clear process that is set in place? You posted over 80 comments. How you’re not banned I don’t understand.

          • JayTN

P.S. To the person or persons flagging all of my postings, it just shows how childish and immature you really are. I will continue to post here and will contact the moderators if this abuse of the flag option continues.

    • nyvoter

Absolutely love this soap … they are engineered so perfectly … talent, ingenuity, spontaneity .. perfect ingredients. As you stated, absolutely incredible

    • nyvoter

Go, go, go … Frank and Ron are masters of their craft. I simply love GH and I love their incredible performance

  • Mika

Go GH! Each week it gets closer to taking down Y&R as #1 soap!!!

    • nyvoter

Even more to the point, this week they are only 431,000 away from #2, which in and of itself is significant

  • sands of time

Congrats DAYS, the only soap to gain viewers! Now, bring everything else up!

    • Andrew Hass

Yeah it’s great that Days was the only soap that went up in total viewers but they are still way down from where they were last year.

  • sands of time

Buckle your seatbelts, Kristen is coming!!! Days of our Lives welcomes back their emmy award winning Eileen Davidson on July 25th!!!!!

    • nyvoter

Looking forward to it; hope it involves much more of Brady and not so much Eric .. we will see :)

  • sands of time

Kassie DePaiva is doing great and I love JJ and Paige!!!

    • nyvoter

Yes, I love Eve’s character and I never knew Kassie DePaiva before. My only complaint is she is being used to provide a S/L for Jennifer and Daniel … but she is wonderful, and she knocks it out of the park

      • sands of time

Eve was always a thorn in Jennifer’s side. Frankie, Jack and now Daniel. But, her being Paige’s mom and Theresa’s sister allows many storyline possibilities!

        • nyvoter

Yes, I’m enjoying every scene she is in

  • nyvoter

For the record, to the “unnamed person” who keeps knocking off all my very straighforward comments simply supporting the soap I love … let me clarify: that does not change the situation in the ratings. Enjoy your rather immature sense of “empowerment”

  • nyvoter

Congratulations to #GH; they are moving overall in the best direction … kudos to the actors, EP and writers … a perfect blend of talent, ingenuity, intrigue, humor and excitement

  • sands of time

The soaps from the crooked eye network lost a total of 600,000 viewers!

  • nyvoter

Congratulations to #GH; they are moving overall in the best direction … kudos to the actors, EP and writers … a perfect blend of talent, ingenuity, intrigue, humor and excitement

  • nyvoter

So out of 21 comments posted, only three remain … if and until the moderators take action, this board will become extinct … and, with all of that, ratings will still move in the direction they are moving … the only one suffering in all of this is this board, so hopefully moderators will take action, for their own benefit

  • sands of time

Is this site ran by the crooked eye network? Why are the majority of my comments taken down? Who is flagging my comments. Even the ones that only mention DAYS?!

    • nyvoter

Yes, mine also. So childish and totally ineffective … because what is really annoying these immature little nits is that the great rise for three weeks straight for Y&R just got lost in one clean swoop. The real loser in all of this is this board … but if the moderators do not control and put an end to such immaturity, I’m afraid they are the ones who will ultimately be adversely affected. As for the “flaggers” ….. better left unsaid. What really matters in the end is to watch what you enjoy and, if your soap is performing well, count youself lucky … I know I certainly do.

  • Trish

Very happy for GH. Yes Friday is usually lower, but that is quite the drop. I wonder if something else was to blame. 2 days over 3 mil is awesome though.

As I thought BB feel back to the normal numbers.

Good for Days. I’m sure KDP helped.

    • sands of time

And she’ll help more and more!

  • sands of time

Together, YawneR and BluB lost 600,000 viewers!!!!!!

    • nyvoter

Which is most likely the REAL cause for this fanatical flagging and disappearing of posts … as is “disappearing posts” can in any way stop the flow of ratings … up or down.

  • nyvoter

Congratulations to #GH; they are moving overall in the best direction … kudos to the actors, EP and writers … a perfect blend of talent, ingenuity, intrigue, humor and excitement

  • sands of time

I’m loving Ben and Abby! DAYS struck gold with Rob Scott Wilson (former TPiR model/AMC star) and Kate Mansi!!

  • sands of time

Days of our Lives emmy winning best actress Eileen Davidson’s first airdate this time around will be July 25th! Tune in and see why DAYS made her a winner, something Y&R never could do!

  • nyvoter

Out of 32 original comments only 13 comments now exist …. gone as quickly as they came … sort of like the three straight weeks of rating rises for Y&R, which just got demolished in one week. And coincidentally, every comment for either GH or Days disappears moments after posting…. hmmm, some must be munching on sour grapes today, LOL.

    • sands of time

Where are TV&MovieBuff, JayTN, Bex and Pat Fernando? They can’t be too happy about the numbers!

    • sands of time

They must have learned about sabotage from Jill Farron Phelps!

      • nyvoter

And their “sabotage” is just as ineffective on ratings as her attempts

  • sands of time

I’m so excited for GH and it’s fans! I occasionally watch and hope GH and DAYS take over the top two spots!

  • sands of time

  • Reini

I’m surprised ratings are still so high for Y&R for this total mess they are showing, anyway, it’s good to see them down and hopefully it will continue because only then Sony might wake up and make some (very, very) much needed changes!

    • RobNYC

They need to get rid of Jill Garden Phelps and replace her with a old school YR vet, not a OLTL or GL leftover but someone that makes the last 2 years disappear asap.

      • Reini

        ITA with you!!!

        • RobNYC

Its heartbreaking to see this one time great sinking. It is like watching The Titanic and all its beauty go under water. All the hard work the Bell family put in over the years disrespected and ruined in a blink.

          • http://unknown.com Bexx

I highly doubt that CBS would allow Y&R to tank, not while they’re two competing soaps still around. Despite their weekly troubles, they still have a very large audience. Jill doesn’t understand Y&R, and both Sony and CBS need to step in and clean out the garbage at the top.

          • sands of time

After a while, most will accept the changes made by JFP. She knows what she is doing. She is a emmy winning EP! No changes beyond JFP’s control are needed at Y&R. Everything will turn around. Y&R should start to worry if the numbers go below 3,500,000. Sometimes, it takes losing numbers to gain numbers.

          • TV&MovieBuff

Well when the Bells have had the chance in the last 10 years they gave us the likes of Lynn Marie Latham and Maria Arena Bell who did just as much damage as Jill Phelps and her crew have done. It was Latham and MAB who got rid of key elements of the shows music, direction, camera work, and started getting rid of long term cast members like Jerry Douglas and Don Diamont long before Phelps got there. MAB filled the show with actors from the ABC cancelled shows as well as old sitcom stars.

          • timsdale4ever

I so miss those days when this shows gorgeous camera angles, lighting, and indescribable background music were “a” signature of this show. It was complete eye candy. It has always been beyond me why someone thought those things needed to go away.

          • Fox

@TVMovieBuff – Actually, the Bells did not give us LML. I beleive we heard that was a move pushed by CBS (Barbara Bloom) with Sony’s complete buy-in. Sally Sussman Morina explained the whole “coup” in an interview once. Moreover, Sara A. Bibel just reiterated that notion a couple of weeks ago during her DC podcast when she addressed how LML went on a mission to rid the show of people like Alden, Smith, Sussman-Morina, and Ed Scott in what Bibel described as a “scorched earth” policy. (Does that sound like something The Bells would do to people they’d worked with for years and years?) But when Sony had had enough of LML, they used the opportunity presented by the 2007-08 WGA strike to remove her. From what I’ve heard, they then agreed to allow The Bells to have creative control over the show again for five years. That’s when we got MAB. But while MAB had a lot to clean up at first, she eventually went haywire as well. Thus, control shifted back to Sony.

          • nyvoter

That is very interesting and informative background and history. I actually only watched Y&R for a few years under MAB’s final years and the JFP era up thru the end of May 2013. So, of course, I have neither the rich history of the soap itself or the behind-the-scenes machinations. Very, very interesting. Thanks.

Thanks Fox. Sounds like Sony just shuffles the deck.

  • http://unknown.com Bexx

Such a pity that Y&R ratings don’t reflect how great last week was. The Paul/Dylan was so well done, and Doug Davidson once again was allowed to shine. If only they would write for the other characters as they did for him.

  • nyvoter

At this point, out of 46 comments posted, only six comments are visible, the rest have been tagged (awaiting moderation or removed permanently). If this is due to an ineffective system, then the moderators need to report this and have it improved, because frankly this board will soon be extinct. If this is malice, one good turn will deserve another. At any rate, NONE of this impacts the ratings, failing, successful or otherwise. Congratulations GH … job well done across the board

    • JayTN

I wondered about that myself. It says 44 comments at the top of the page, but only 9 comments are listed at the start of the discussion posts. I thought it might be some kind of error (44 posts in less than 24 hours seems a bit much, especially during the summer).

It is nice to actually see one of your posts. It seems everytime you reply to one of my postings, by the time I see it has been tagged for moderation, preventing any future replies to your comment.

      • nyvoter

Thank you Jay. Unfortunately, it is not just my replies to you, it is every single post. At this point, since it is directed at only a few of us I think it is intentional … and that is not only immature (if indeed it is the case) and spiteful, but it is damaging to this board, so the moderators must take note for their own sake. Anyway, I always enjoy your posts, because they are intelligent, noninvasive and often very informational. Glad we had this opporotunity to quickly communicate. *)

        • http://unknown.com Bexx

Hypocrite! It’s immature, but you admitted to flagging my comments because I mentioned your fake law degree, and organic couple. Take your own advice and grow up!

  • nyvoter

Congratulations to General Hospital … a continuing job well done … it emphasizes what the combination of talent, excellent writing, integrity and respect can achieve.

  • http://unknown.com Bexx

I love how nyvoter just basically admitted to flagging comments because hers were removed. No wonder my two comments, and Jay’s comment to Andrew vanished. I also love how she claims to be above the fray, yet she’s just another Sands trolling Y&R fans. Typical of someone who lies about going to law school.

    • sands of time

Where were you and the rest of the YackeR crybabies when the pro GH and DAYS fans were celebrating on this forum, all while our comments were being flagged, right and left? Each and every YackeR were clearing the way! You’re going down!

      • richie

Come back when your show hits 3 million viewers in a day, & than you can talk……

    • JayTN

I agree that flagging posts just because they contain comments someone doesn’t like is rather childish and immature. Unfortunately, it seems that our culture is changing and people have been fooled into believing that they should never have their feelings hurt or opinions contradicted.

I have re-posted my removed reply to Andrew. Let’s see how long it stays visible. The only situation that I can think of that would justify tagging a comment is when that comment is verbally abusive (like calling someone names). I have flagged a few comments for that reason shortly after Discus changed to the up/down arrow format.

      • http://unknown.com Bexx

The comments weren’t even offensive she just wanted to flag them because hers were gone. And people call me the immature one? Personally I think it’s the little troll Sands trying to start a board war. We already know this is the sort of stuff it feeds off of. It couldn’t wait to respond to me with nonsense.

        • sands of time

You’re the one that sat quietly the first day in shock of the Y&R numbers. You flagged to your jealous heart’s content, knowing you would eventually throw suspicion my way.

      • nyvoter

Jay, as you might have noticed, your reply to me, and mine to you, neither of which were insulting or rude to each other or anyyone else, are gone. Let us see how long this post lasts. :)

      • RobNYC

Hey Jay, is the arrow up is if you like and agree with a post and the arrow down is a flag? I personally agree and think there is no reason to flag a post unless it is abusive.

        • JayTN

Yeah, the up arrow means approval. The down arrow means that you disagree. The up arrow keeps a running tally of who clicks on the icon, but the down arrow doesn’t.

          • TV&MovieBuff

The down arrow used to but Discus said too many people didn’t like knowing how many people didn’t like what they had to say they did away with it.

          • JayTN

That plays into a comment I posted here earlier (since removed for unknown reasons) that nowadays it seems like people think they have a right never to be offended or hear contrary opinions. Personally, I think that is a sad commentary on our society right now.

          • nyvoter

All my posts are being removed also, Jay; they have been steadily removed since Sunday. I’m not sure if it is any one or more persons doing so, or a malfunction on this board.

          • JayTN

It may be some sort of malfunction. My original reply to RobNYC explaining the up/down function was held up with the explanation that it is waiting to be approved by SON (for no good reason).

            Thx

      • nyvoter

I never flagged anyone … But neither will I allow anyone to be downright insulting and personal (and needless to say absolutely incorrect in his/her accusations). There is plenty of room for one to form their own opinions and let others be with theirs. I am sure that some of these cybertuffies would sit very quietly in an actual corner, of an actual room, and learn quickly how to temper their overextended bad manners. One nameless poster, in particular, has outdone himself; now, any insulting post he/she makes about me will be flagged. So far, that has amounted to ONE flag. But about 20 posts made by me and others who support GH or another soap
have been disappearing within minutes of posting.

      • nyvoter

All my posts are being removed also; they have been automatically and steadily removed since Sunday … and not any of them are other than supporting the soap I love. Actually, almost all posts from supporters of GH (and possibly Days) are left standing. That is what I call childish.

So you’re spamming the board over and over, yet you wonder why your comments are disappearing? Allow your comments to await moderation like everyone else here. At this point you and Sands should be banned for spamming. And why do you always used your law degree as an excuse for everything you do? No sane person or lawyer refers to fake couples as “organic”.

Bexx, I agree with you on this comment … and I accept the Mods decision. However, there were other comments that were personal and over the top …. and they were deleted as offensive.

        • http://unknown.com Bexx

Majority of the comments that weren’t posted are due to the fact that the Mods were inundated with a flood of pending comments…150 of them. I think my very first message to you was asking that you stop spamming the boards with excessive comments, because all that was doing was backing up other comments from being moderated. Granted my comments weren’t exactly nice or good-natured, but they were things I have said before. I don’t think I really said anything out of line until you said “one good turn deserves another” and that you were flagging all my comments to you just because. If you wish to take the high road, it’s best to remain there.

          • nyvoter

Bexx, I was certainly not flagging all your comments … they were just two or three … my “one good turn deserves another” was probably uncalled for … and at the time I made it I was not directing it particularly at you. In fact, I really do not think you were the one eliminating my posts … that does not seem to be your style … and it is not mine either.

          • http://unknown.com Bexx

It didn’t used to be this way until the heated Muhney thread some weeks ago. Naturally his fans wanted to shut me up so they started flagging all my posts, I think that’s when people just started using the flag option all the time for the heck of it. What SON needs to do is configure their Disqus so that comments are moderated after a higher number of unique reports. They clearly have it on a very sensitive setting, unlike TVBTN or other sites where your comment won’t disappear after being flagged only a few times. Anyway hopefully now that SON has addressed the issue it can stop before anyone gets permanently banned.

          • nyvoter

Hopefully. I tried deleting all my additional comments, but as I mentioned above, they came back somehow as “Guest” comments … and now I do not seem to have the delete option because they are not appearing as “my” comments but as a “guest.” Looks like the same thing happened to you when you removed your “spamming” comments. Any suggestions?

          • http://unknown.com Bexx

I flagged mines, and I think only two remain. Hopefully the remaining ones won’t make a return since they are listed under Guest. I think this is the only downside to Disqus. God forbid you had personal information in a message.

Every Y&R fan needs to calm down. The ratings will get better. Y&R is in the hands of Emmy award winning writers and beloved EP. Things should continue the way they are storyline and production wise. Viewers fickleness is part of the game. Y&R has a winning team that will not change.

I just realized that, at least for this week’s ratings, General Hospital is within reach of securing the #2 position in total viewers by 431,000. And in my opinion, they possess the kind of buzz, excitement, storylines and magic that supports such a positive movement. Go GH … go, go, go

You would at least think she would delete all her spam so that we don’t have to keep scrolling just to get to the other comments. An Attorney who has a problem with rules? No wonder you are retired.

      • nyvoter

Actually, I tried but I do not see a delete button. If you … or anyone else … knows how to do it, I would be more than happy to accommodate.

        • http://unknown.com Bexx

It’s to the top right above your comments. Just hoover your cursor over the text, and you’ll see a little arrow down icon. The delete option is there.

I’ll be nice and remove my messages about you spamming.

Bexx, I need a little more technical assistance. I deleted all the additional posts (and any one I thought might be offensive) but at least some of them came back under “Guest”‘; I cannot seem to delete these posts because they are not in my name. Any suggestions:

          • http://unknown.com Bexx

Yeah I just noticed mines came back as well. I guess another change by Disqus. In the past you could delete them no problem, which I guess now you have to edit them before you hit delete. I did try flagging one of my post to see if that gets rid of it in hopes the Mods will just delete it.

          • nyvoter

Okay, I will do the same thing. Is there any place that we can post a question to the moderators to see if there is a way around this? You know, I like it this way between us much more. *)

          • http://unknown.com Bexx

You could try sending a tweet, or you can contact them directly by clicking the contact link at the bottom of the page. Or the forums. they likely have a help section. However I think only a Mod can delete them.

I do as well! We’re like men after having a fist fight drinking beer together. :-)

  • JayTN

Surprise, surprise. My most recent comment lasted all of 3 minutes. This website really needs to do something about the rampant abuse of the flag option, which has become a de facto way to delete any comment someone doesn’t agree with.

    • TV&MovieBuff

Until they do it’s not even worth posting over here anymore. And evidently the site doesn’t care or they would do something instead of letting a bunch of cry babies keep abusing the flag option like they do.

      • sands of time

I’m willing to have my flagging history public. Are you? What about your fellow Y&R fans? This weeks numbers were posted and there was a big wave of non Y&R fans posting for a day, only for those posts to be wiped out. The next day is when the Y&R fans started commenting. It’s easy to see that the Y&R fans are the crybabies. I’m too hot to handle and you and your fellow Y&R fans can’t handle Y&R’s nosedive along with the good mood of the DAYS and GH fans. Face it, the Y&R fans lashed out. From here on out, I will flag 4 comments ( one in honor of you, JayTN, Bexx and Pat F) for each of my flagged comments. I’ve never seen such hatred for comments like the times Y&R does not do well. Who’s the crybabies? I’m not the one that needs to suck on my mommy’s tit!

      • http://unknown.com Bexx

SON posted that they want it to stop, but guess who is still flagging my comments?

        • TV&MovieBuff

Where did they post about it? I missed it. I am not even going to try to look for it in the comments on this thread. Way too confusing to find anything in the multiple posts.

          • http://unknown.com Bexx

They posted it on their offical Twitter page @soapoperanetwork:disqus, but you can also find it on the Twitter feed widget to your right on the hompage

  • http://unknown.com Bexx

If you don’t want people discussing your personal life, then don’t put your business out there. FYI your former career is irrelevant when it comes to soaps. Flagging cause you’re offended doesn’t make you any better than the others. I hope they all keep vanishing. Karma is a b…

  • http://unknown.com Bexx

Nothing but spam. This is what happens when entitled people think they are above the moderation system.

  • http://unknown.com Bexx

And we see the troll Sands is still flagging comments, despite SON asking for it to stop. As soon as it replied to me, my comment posted 10 minutes disappears. No surprise considering troll said it’s going to continue to flag not only my comments, but Jays, TVBuff, and Pat’s as well.

  • sands of time

The moderaters know who started the flagging wars; the Y&R fans. The Y&R fans don’t like my comments. The Y&R fans are beside themselves when ratings dip. And my comments coupled with low ratings for Y&R sends the fans into a tailspin! The truth hurts!

  • sands of time

I’m begging for the moderaters to disclose who flagged what comments from the first to the last since the numbers for this week were listed. Please!

  • sands of time

For the record, I’m not an it. I’m a person.

  • http://unknown.com Bexx

I love how trolls can admit to flagging our comments today, but still pretend to be innocent.

  • http://unknown.com Bexx

The news about Sweeney must really hurt, especially when trolls go as far as to lie about Billy Miller being “in talks” with DOOL. LOL

Even when Y&R is at the bottom, DOOL will still be the dirt under their shoe.

    • sands of time

That’s a good one! I like that. At one time I did hear the story about Billy Miller, but now I’m hearing he will be on GH with Michael Muhney and Michelle Stafford. We’ll see! I know a lot of people that watch both DAYS and Y&R. DAYS comes out the winner!

    • sands of time

I think AS directing GH is a good thing. She’s free to do what she wants. She already directed eleven episodes of DAYS between 2012 and 2013. She may eventually be a full time director at DAYS. Cutting her teeth elsewhere would make her appear to be more legit as a director as opposed to just being handed a steady directing job.

      • Andrew Hass

I agree. If Allison wants to direct at GH that is her right.Plus as you pointed out she directed at DOOL but she might want to try a show she wasn’t on,That way she could be treated like any other director and earn respect.

        • http://unknown.com Bexx

I wonder why they didn’t ask Kimberly Mccullough, or is she directing elsewhere?

          • nyvoter

It is my understanding that KM is in a directorship program, under which she follows directors in a learning process; I am not sure if she has actually ever directed anything on her own at this point. But it is a good question.

          • http://unknown.com Bexx

            Thank you.

          • Andrew Hass

Kimberly McCullough is finishing up her 2 year fellowship in the Disney/ABC directing program soon or is already finished with it.However i read somewhere that she’s going to be directing a movie starting sometime in September or so.As for directing at GH she may not want to direct there because then people might ask her if she’ll be acting there too.She may want to keep her acting and directing careers separate for now.

  • sands of time

Opposing views should not be the reason to be banned from this site. The flagging war was created in an effort to get rid of nyvoter and I. Sorry, but their is room for opposition.

  • http://unknown.com Bexx

Spamming and baiting should be a reason for the ban hammer. People like the troll Sands who tries to bait Y&R fans by spamming irrelevant comments, and gossips, then turns around and plays innocent after admitting to flagging users comments just because it felt like it. People like Nyvoter who claims to be an “attorney” but has a problem with the moderation process set in place by the site. Nyvoter who sent 80+ comments into the moderation queue, rather than allow the appropriate time to pass for her comments to be moderated. The same Nyvoter who felt insulted, so she flagged my comments. This site used to be peaceful until the troll came along.

A technical question: Is there a way to delete a comment one has posted. I see the edit button … but it seems as if you have to replace the previous statement. Is there any way to completely delete a post one has previously made. Thanks for any assistance given. :)

    • soapoperanetwork

The only way to edit or delete a post is if you sign in and comment as a registered member with Disqus.com
