WHAT DO YOU THINK? Comment Below...
  • Noah Snyder

If I was ABC, how much would I prefer to have GH (that is: former AMC and OLTL) ratings the whole afternoon instead of these terrible “The Chew” and “Katie” numbers.

And if I was CBS, how much would I prefer to have GH (that is former ATWT and GL) ratings instead of “The Talk” and “LMAD” ratings with their bad performance especially in the women 18-49 key demographic.

There is a lesson for the networks to learn here (and the more aggressively we teach them the better): Continuing to throw the cheapest possible crap at viewers won’t get you anywhere in daytime anymore!!

    • Nick

If you spoke those exact, tired lines in public to a room filled with top network executives, they would laugh so hard in your face and ask you what kind of medication you’re on. It’s such sour grapes at this point. No wonder why so many mainstream people out there think that soap opera fans are so delusional and out of touch with reality. Too bad that this tiny, loud, loony minority is making the rest of us rational fans look bad.

      • Noah Mayer

Oh, I’ve been standing in front of a lot of rooms filled with executives and scientists and others – and if they would be laughing at anyone, it’s you and your old, tired distortions and lies.

How many times have you already copied and pasted that exact same lines in inumerous threads?

If anyone is NOT RATIONAL (= IRRATIONAL) it’s you, because you seem to have a problem with simple facts and numbers.

Your behavior is as outrageous as it is predictable, because you are just trying to gag soap opera fans and keeping them from speaking out the truth!

Your intention is to divide and to silence them, because you or the ones who are paying you know exactly that soap fans still have a lot of power, if they stand together and build up pressure to restore their programs to their rightful places.

Your hysterical reaction is the best evidence that well-informed people who don’t buy into your fake comments and lies hit a nerve, because the facts and numbers are on their side!

      • Philip

Nick talking to this idiot and his multiple ID’s is like talking to a fence post in the yard….and the fence post actually has a higher IQ.

        • Sasha

Bexx and Philip – sound like the same bunch of paid copy and pasters to me…

          • Bexx

Paid to comment? Well, now you’re talking hun! How does one get hired for something like that? I would love to get extra money jut to express my disdain for GH.

    • Bexx

Yawn, this again? Why don’t people get over it, the networks already made their choice, just be happy with what you have left at ABC.

    • KansasGuest

Noah, THE CHEW’s ratings are on par & sometimes higher than AMC’s & OLTL’s were in that time slot. The show also costs much less to make than those two soaps. Network tv isn’t a charity. It’s a business. If they’re making a profit on THE CHEW vs losing money on soaps, that is all they need to know. People are watching & money is being made.

      • Noah Snyder

Quote: “THE CHEW’s ratings are on par & sometimes higher than AMC’s & OLTL’s were in that time slot.”

Now, this is an OUTRIGHT LIE that everybody can identify as such if they have a look at the actual numbers, especially in the KEY DEMOGRAPHIC (women 18-49) that advertisers are actually paying for.

The worst season average AMC and OLTL had during their last years was a 1.9 household rating, with women 18-49 ratings always remaining at 1.0 or above.

“The Chew’s” ratings are continously BELOW 1.9 (season average estimate is 1.6-1.7) and only about half the ratings AMC and OLTL got in the women 18-49 key demographic (0.6).

So, as you said: It’s a business, not a charity. And these advertisers that want to reach the highest possible number of viewers in their key demographic are certainly NOT going to pay for these low numbers of the cheap talk, game and cookings shows industry for much longer.

    • Harlee

I would love to have ATWT & GL back but it’s not happening and honestly, speaking about The Talk, I have learned to love the TT, took awhile but I’m there plus CBS viewers do have 2 soaps on their line-up. BB is rocking my world with great entertainment and regardless how I feel about YR and it’s Steve Burton pushing all the time, I just want YR fixed and not with hacks coming from GH.

      • Noah Snyder

Nice little stories about your personal life. Do they change the facts I mentioned? No.

Do they change the fact that millions of fans want ATWT and GL to be restored to their rightful places? Not either.

Does anyone have the right to gag these fans?
        Not at all.

        • Harlee

Nobody is trying to gag anyone so get over yourself…you can wish in one hand and ________ in the other…as they say. I’m a hardcore Lighter all my life and was devastated but they won’t at least be coming back to CBS, maybe another avenue is possibly.

      • Philip

        I totally agree Harlee.

And yes B&B is excellent. Best soap on the air right now. Why someone at CBS can’t wake up and say this model is working for B&B why can’t it work for Y&R.

        • Sasha

Huhu. Y&R’s season average is UP, as well as all the other soaps’. Have you been sleeping through the last two years? So who are YOU to give anyone a wake-up call??

          • Harlee

The last two years on YR isn’t up but this year and BB has been booming the last 2 years with growth. YR’s growth is stagnant because the no talent EP of JFP and pushing the character of Dylan…in total ratings this team is MAB’s worse ratings. It has recovered some but not must see TV. BB is the ticket for good soap but you can always count on Bell to deliver quality.

  • SoapFansTogether

Congrats to ALL our soaps for proving that it’s still possible to draw good numbers in daytime, especially in the women 18-49 demographic!!

  • Nikki

Are B&B using their Room Eight Spin Off episodes viewing to increase the rating of B&B? It would be worth investigating !

    • Harlee

Heck no, it’s just damn good soap opera! So ppl want to know why and simple truth it’s back to basics and showing all the Bell family do know what they are doing when a real Bell is in charge.

BB is smoking right now, loving this little 30 minute soap.

      • Philip

It’s the best soap on right now. Loving it too.

  • Bexx

Congrats to BB and Y&R, the numbers for BB have been wonderful this year.

  • PatF

Glad to see all the shows up over last week.
Next week’s ratings for YR will be interesting, as the blackout ended, and Kay’s episodes aired on Tues and Wed.

  • mindy

gosh, so many hysteric and negative comments only because soaps are getting good ratings and some anti-soaps lobbyists that are spamming every board don’t like it.

    • Bexx

My GAWD! How many aliases do you have?

  • Ms. TAN FOSTER

Bold and the Beautiful sucks big time
