On the Friday, September 18, 2026, episode of “Beyond the Gates,” Izaiah (Lami) and Kat (Colby Nixon) bonded again, Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) and Ashley (Jen Jacob) got life upgrades, and Dani (Karla Mosley) heard a stunning admission from Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett).
Trouble In The House
Monica (Iona Morris Jackson) approached Ashley and Shanice at the hospital, letting them know that Bill had filed a complaint over the way the nurses had ejected Hayley from Bill’s bed while he was recovering from his heart issue. Ashley, in particular, fretted about causing problems for Garland Memorial, but Monica assured her and Shanice that they had followed protocol and there was no reason to fear for their jobs.
In fact, Monica went on, she had news: Shanice was being promoted to the nurse manager for that floor, and Ashley was now a charge nurse. The caregivers congratulated each other, then discussed how Leslie had tried to tank Shanice’s relationship with Ted by airing his dirty laundry to her brothers, just as Eva (Ambyr Michelle) came off the elevator and overheard.
Eva went to Ted (Keith D. Robinson), who wanted to know how her post-surgery follow-up exam had gone. After she reported that she was making progress as expected, Eva apologized for how her mother had once again tried to come between Ted and Shanice. Eva admitted that she had the capacity to behave like Leslie when she got jealous, thinking back to when she found Kat and Izaiah laughing together. Ted had hoped his daughters would grow closer because Kat had donated part of her liver to Eva, while Eva responded that things were at least less frosty between them and that they had graduated to avoiding conflict with each other.
He’s A Mutt
Kat was ready to do a proper roll-out for ChelseaKat’s new purse, but Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) wasn’t as enthusiastic, preferring to take a less visible online approach. Chelsea didn’t think putting themselves in the spotlight during the fracas over Takahashi was a good idea, and Kat intuited that Chelsea was holding back because of how Allison had ruined their launch the previous year. Kat decided to do a livestream in Chelsea’s stead; when Izaiah arrived at Uptown and saw Kat’s effort, he deemed her a natural.
Chelsea excused herself to get a stronger drink from bartender Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso). After he encouraged her to open up, Chelsea described how Allison had stalked her and kidnapped her, then asked if Grayson had courage that “wasn’t liquid” in stock. Once she returned to her table, Chelsea noticed how chummy Kat was being with Izaiah, and Kat sing-songingly said that Izaiah was in trouble as soon as she saw Eva entering the establishment.
Izaiah went to Eva, who smirked that he could go back and finish his conversation with Kat. Izaiah promised Eva that, with her, he was where he wanted to be, while Chelsea began asking Kat about her intentions toward Izaiah. Kat insisted that she and Izaiah were just friends, though she remarked that Eva “didn’t give a crap” when she’d hung out with Tomas, knowing that he was involved with Kat. Chelsea still had the impression that Kat was into Izaiah, which Kat denied; Chelsea added that Kat could be trying to stick it to Eva by cozying up to her man.
Why Would I Go Back To The Burn
Dani and Andre (Sean Freeman) padded downstairs after a session of lovemaking, and, after romantic admissions all around, Dani sheepishly said that there was something she needed to tell him. Andre immediately realized Dani was talking about Bill and became angry, tired of Bill always being an issue in their marriage. Dani validated Andre’s frustration and acknowledged that, owing to Bill’s health problems, she had been acting as if Bill were still her husband rather than Andre, promising Andre that she was his, and only his.
Hayley (Marquita Goings) sat on Bill’s lap in his office, surprised when he became reflective and talked about how much Hayley had changed his life. Bill referred to himself as sickly and put himself down for his “changing health,” which was not allowing him to be the kind of husband Hayley deserved. Hayley attempted to mollify him by claiming she loved him for who he was; then, at Bill’s urging, she accepted a lunch date with Caroline, leaving him free to text Dani repeatedly.
Dani saw Bill’s messages and put her phone down, instead bringing out chocolate and strawberries, which she and Andre had noshed on during their trip to L.A. the previous year when they had realized that their friends-with-benefits situation was turning to love. This led to more lovemaking; meanwhile, Bill slammed down his own phone, unable to get through to his ex-wife.
Don’t Come To My House
Hayley brought Caroline (Ellie Wang) to the country club for her first taste of caviar as another way to thank her for saving Bill’s life. Caroline remembered Bill’s directive to let him know if Hayley was seen with Randy again, so she steered the conversation to the difficulties Hayley had been through. Hayley took the bait and complained that the Duprees were cruel to her and that they had accused her of cheating on Bill. Though Hayley actually understood why Naomi and Chelsea were so protective, she couldn’t comprehend Dani’s continuing presence.
After his second round of sex with Dani, Andre decided to go for a run. Moments later, Bill showed up at Dani’s door, and she repeatedly demanded that he leave, going so far as to threaten to call Fairmont Crest security. But Bill got Dani’s attention when he was finally able to exclaim, “Dani, I think I’m dying.”
