(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Just one day after pondering when John Driscoll would make his long-awaited “Young and Restless” debut as Phillip Chancellor IV, Soap Opera Network has learned that a date has been set.

According to sources, Driscoll’s first airdate is set for Thursday, July 16, when Phillip IV returns to Genoa City after taking a leave from the U.S. Army. Yes, Phillip is “Army Strong.” His first scenes are with the Chancellor clan, including on-screen mother Tricia Cast (who portrays Nina Webster) who gets a warm welcome from her grown-up son.

Driscoll made his acting debut in the 2001 WB drama series “Young Americans,” where he played Brandon during the series’ eight episode run on the network. Outside of the acting world, he was a model for popular Italian fashion labels Versace and Armani, among others. Driscoll first appeared on “Guiding Light” as Henry Cooper ‘Coop’ Bradshaw on September 2, 2004 and was last seen on February 17, 2009.

The actor’s path to “The Young and the Restless” started in April 2009 when Daytime Confidential reported the actor had signed on to portray the role.

The Young and the Restless” airs Weekdays on CBS. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.
