CBS’ Angelica McDaniel, who in her role as Senior Vice President, Daytime, CBS Entertainment, has overseen the growth in all areas of daytime programming for the network since her promotion to the position in February 2012, will add oversight of first-run programming development for CBS Television Distribution, the syndication arm of CBS Corp., the company announced today.

For the week of January 19-23, ABC’s “The View” beat CBS’ competing “The Talk” in Total Viewers (2,881,000 vs. 2,788,000), Women 18-49 (445,000 vs. 438,000) and Women 25-54 (626,000 vs. 624,000). The daytime talk show was up across the board week-to-week to post 5 week highs in viewers and Women 25-54.

CBS is kicking off 2015 with nothing but smiles on its face as the network touts in a new promo that its lineup consisting of “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Price is Right,” “The Talk” and “Let’s Make a Deal” have helped it become daytime’s most watched network for 28 consecutive years.

After five weeks of eliminations and heartbreak, “The Price is Right” narrowed its next male model search down to three – Jonathan Morgan, Jay Byars and James O’Halloran – when the finalists appeared on the Monday, December 1 edition of CBS’ “The Talk.” After the reveal, America began voting for who they felt best fit the brand of the game show when the polls opened via priceisright.com/nextpricemodel. Polls closed on Friday, December 5. Today, December 8, the game show revealed who would finally take home the prize of becoming the next male model on “The Price is Right,” which entails a week-long modeling gig beginning Monday, December 15. So who did America choose?

You met the three finalists for the next male model search currently underway at CBS’ “The Price is Right,” via their appearance on the Monday, December 1 edition of CBS’ “The Talk,” but what does the game show’s first male model, Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Ridgeway, “Days of our Lives”; ex-Pete Cortlandt, “All My Children”) have to say about another person taking on his former daytime role? The actor recently spoke with Soap Opera Network about his experience on the game show, what it was like helping judge the competition, and responds to comments made about him by “Price is Right” executive producer, Mike Richards.

For the week of November 17-21, 2014, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” hit a season high in total viewers with an average of 5.06 million viewers tuning in each day. “The Bold and the Beautiful” also attracted its second largest weekly audience of the season with 3.74 million viewers. Numbers are based on Nielsen Media Research Live+Same Day ratings data.

With Craig Ferguson set to step down as host of “The Late Late Show” on Friday, December 19, CBS has announced that following re-runs of the late night talk show, special editions will be produced featuring rotating guest hosts and special after-dark editions of CBS Daytime’s “The Talk” from Monday, January 5 – Friday, March 6, 2015 (12:37-1:37 AM, ET/PT).

What do Carrie Underwood, the cast of “Blue Bloods,” which includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson and Sami Gayle, and chefs Lidia Bastianich and Michael Lomonaco all have in common? They will all be part of “The Talk’s” return to New York City during the week of December 8 thru 12 for holiday-themed shows, it was announced during today’s edition of the talk show.

In the midst of “The Bold and the Beautiful” gearing up for an exciting storyline in Amsterdam, which will begin airing Friday, November 7, the show’s stars Scott Clifton (Liam), Kim Matula (Hope), Ashleigh Brewer (Ivy) and Darin Brooks (Wyatt) dropped by CBS’ “The Talk” to discuss the twists and turns ahead. But don’t fret if you missed the actors’ appearance yesterday: A clip of their visit to the popular talk show has just been released!

In one of the rarest of circumstances, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” announced on Twitter earlier this evening that actress Kim Matula (Hope Logan) will soon be departing the daytime drama series, just hours after Matula appeared live alongside co-stars Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer), Darin Brooks (Wyatt Fuller) and Ashleigh Brewer (Ivy Forrester) on the network’s daytime talk show, “The Talk.” Under normal circumstances the talent, or their representatives, would reveal departure news to the press or social media before the show was able to confirm casting updates.

As the polls close in some states, and prepare to close in others, it might come as a surprise to learn which of your favorite television shows may appeal more to those who share a different political viewpoint from that of your own. In the weeks leading up to the mid-term elections taking place today, Bloomberg did a study that followed political ad spending on various forms of programming aired throughout the year leading up to election night. In it, Bloomberg noted that “General Hospital,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Talk,” “The Steve Harvey Show” and even “Judge Judy,” among others, aired more Democratic political ads while news oriented programming such as “CBS Sunday Morning,” “NBC Nightly News,” “Nightline,” the Sunday editions of both “Good Morning America” and “The Today Show,” and even game show “The Price is Right,” aired more Republican ads.

With ABC becoming full owner of “The View,” after buying out Barbara Walters‘ stake over the summer, the network announced today that the daytime talker will now fall under the purview of ABC News after more than 17 years under the entertainment division, this despite a drastic makeover this fall with the inclusion of three new hosts joining Whoopi Goldberg on the panel. With the talk show now falling under the umbrella of the news division, “General Hospital” and “The Chew” remain the only entertainment programming airing during the daytime on the network.

As we previously reported, “The Price Is Right” recently launched a nationwide male model search, and all of the excitement has culminated into a web series in which America can view and later vote on the final contestants hoping to follow in the footsteps of former model Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Rogers, “Days of our Lives;” ex-Pete Cortlandt, “All My Children”). Hundreds of young men auditioned with the dream of winning the week-long modeling contract with the game show, but only 30 made it to Round One of the web series — which aired its first episode today!

The newest cast members of “The Young and the Restless” Scott Elrod (Joe Clark), Justin Hartley (Adam Newman), Burgess Jenkins (Billy Abbott) and Gina Tognoni (Phyllis Summers) joined co-hosts Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Julie Chen, along with guest co-host Pat Harvey, on today’s edition of CBS’ “The Talk” as the actors discussed some of the exciting new storylines in store for their characters and much more!
