Paul Walker, best known for his portrayal of Brian O’Connor in “The Fast and the Furious” film franchise, has died. News of the Walker’s death was first reported by TMZ. Representatives for the actor confirmed that Walker died on Saturday afternoon as a result of a deadly car accident in which the vehicle he was in hit a tree in Santa Clarita, California. Per a posting on his official Facebook Page, Walker was a passenger in an unidentified friend’s vehicle while both were attending a charity event for Reach Out Worldwide. “We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences,” read the statement on the page.

Cory Monteith, who portrayed Finn Hudson on FOX’s “Glee”, has died. The actor was found dead in his hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia on Saturday afternoon. It’s understood that when Monteith missed his checkout at noon, hotel staff went to his room and found his body. “An autopsy is scheduled for Monday,” said Vancouver Acting Police Chief Doug LePard in a press conference. “The Coroner will be determining the next steps with respect to establishing cause of death, but all indications are that there was no foul play.”

Longtime actor Jerry Ayres — also known as Gerald Holt Ayres — died of natural causes at his home in Valley Village, California, on May 14. Soap fans may remember Ayres as “Dynasty’s” Tom, as “General Hospital’s” David Hamilton, which he played rom 1978 to 1979, or as “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Conway Weston, which he played from 1987 to 1988.

Longtime actress Maxine Stuart (Mary Anderson, “The Young and the Restless,” Grace O’Keefe, “Edge of Night,” Mrs. Dawson, “General Hospital”) died of natural causes in her Beverly Hills home on Thursday, June 6, reports her daughter, Chris Ann Maxwell.

It is with great sadness to report that Paul Skipper, a long-time photographer at JPI Studios, died on Tuesday, June 4 (previously incorrectly reported by us as Monday, June 3). While it is unknown at this time what caused Skipper’s death, tweets have gone out from several past and present “Days of our Lives” cast/crew members, which is the show Skipper primarily shot for, including one from Eric Martsolf (Brady Black) that read: “Paul Skipper- RIP. No one shot more terrific pictures for our genre.” His tweet was responded to by Crystal Chappell (ex-Carly Manning), who said “so very true. Loved his dear heart.”

Fran Bascom, who had been nominated nine times for her work as a casting director at NBC’s “Days of our Lives” by the Casting Society of America, has died. After reportedly feeling under the weather late Sunday, June 2, Bascom was taken to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA, where she died. A cause of death is not known at this time.

87-year-old “Dallas” actor Steve Forrest (ex-Wes Parmalee/Ben Stivers) passed away on May 18 in Thousand Oaks, California. In addition to his primetime soap role, the Texas native — who was discovered by Hollywood legend Gregory Peck — was known for television roles in “S.W.A.T.,” “Murder, She Wrote,” and “Gunsmoke,” as well as in film roles like “Prisoner of War” (opposite Ronald Reagan), “Heller In Pink Tights” (with Sophia Loren), “The Flaming Star” (with Elvis Presley) and “The Longest Day” (with John Wayne).

When Jeanne Cooper first stepped into “The Young and the Restless’” Genoa City as Katherine Chancellor back in 1973, soap opera history was made. Written by show creator William J. Bell specifically to convey controversial storylines that would boost weak ratings, Katherine was everything the wealthy wife of Phillip Chancellor II shouldn’t be: a drunk, a heavy smoker and a bit of a slut who had illicit affairs with stable boys. Despite the character’s many problems, fans fell in love with Katherine — as well as the actress who so effortlessly brought her to life.

It is with great sadness to report that Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor, “The Young and the Restless”) has died. The 84-year old actress, who has been in and out of the hospital in recent weeks, died this morning in her hospital bed with her daughter by her side.

Ivan Giovanettina, a staff member working at ABC’s “The Chew” as a prop supervisor, has died after being fatally shot in the stomach on January 10. He was 41.
