On the Tuesday, October 6, 2026, episode of “Beyond the Gates,” Kat (Colby Nixon) and Izaiah (Lami) faced judgment, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) didn’t know his control was out of control and Hayley (Marquita Goings), sticking to her guns, put herself and Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) in the line of fire.
Look Like Love
Izaiah came to the station looking for Elon, since he had won the bet over whether Banneker University would come out on top at the homecoming game. Jacob (Jibre Hordges) was glad Elon and Izaiah were finally making inroads, but he ruffled Izaiah’s feathers when he said several partygoers had noticed how close he was to Kat. Izaiah resented Jacob advising him to focus on his relationship with Eva and spat that Eva trusted him, unlike Jacob.
Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) was at Orphey Gene’s, telling Kat that trying to be friends with her sister’s boyfriend may not be the best move. Just as Kat crowed that Eva could “kiss my rich, happy Black ass,” Eva walked in; Kat doubled down, declaring a friendship with Izaiah whether Eva liked it or not. After Chelsea called Kat defensive, Kat walked out, and Eva asked Chelsea if everything was going well between Kat and Tomas.
More Than Friends, Less Than Lovers
Eva felt it was fair when Chelsea noted that Eva wouldn’t have asked about that relationship were she secure in her own. Chelsea changed the topic to Leslie and how she had bailed Hayley out of jail; Eva swore she’d had no idea what her mother was up to. Eva surmised that Leslie would be hard pressed to let go of her resentment toward Bill for forcing her out of town and threatening Eva’s existence.
While Eva wondered aloud if Kat was using Izaiah as a new way to mess with her, Kat ran into Izaiah at Uptown, and the two laughed at how they weren’t supposed to be seen together. Izaiah said he and Kat were just friends, and they shook hands to prove it. Kat was tired of always having to defend her actions to everyone. Izaiah smirked that Kat now knew what it was like to be a Hawthorne.
Can U Handle It?
Vernon (Clifton Davis) entered Bill’s office, wanting to know how Hayley could have found out about Martin accidentally killing a man to defend him. Bill sighed that Hayley had recorded their conversations but avowed that he had “put moves in place” to keep Hayley contained. Furthermore, Bill announced that he had retained a private investigator to dig into Hayley’s past. After what happened to Kenny, Vernon didn’t want any more dead bodies on their hands and took charge, reminding Bill it would give him plausible deniability.
Bill’s next visitor was Jacob, who didn’t sit right with Bill letting Hayley go free, especially with all the evidence stacked against her. Jacob sensed Hayley had forced Bill’s hand, but Bill neither confirmed nor denied it. When Jacob worried that Hayley might go after Naomi for creating the opening that let Dani snoop around her house, Bill promised Naomi wouldn’t be harmed, but added that Jacob needed to tend to his own business and leave Bill to his.
No New Friends
Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) came by Hayley’s hotel room, gloating that she had clocked from day one that Hayley had been playing Bill. She wanted details of the scam, but Hayley wouldn’t produce any. Leslie noticed that Hayley didn’t seem happy despite having gotten off scot-free; Hayley whined that she was stuck at the Bowman until she got the money from her and Bill’s prenup. Leslie decided to take Hayley shopping, and, though having very little to say about it, Hayley gave in.
At the Dupree mansion, Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Dani (Karla Mosley) reluctantly told Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) that Hayley was holding Martin’s actions against Bill to stay out of jail. Nicole was furious that things had been kept from her yet again and picked up her phone to warn Martin – but Anita begged her to give Vernon time to handle the situation. The women went to have breakfast at the country club…only to be accosted by Leslie and Hayley.
Afterward, Nicole told Dani and Anita that if Vernon didn’t neutralize Hayley, she would. Across the banquet room, Hayley was surprised that Leslie had turned down the über-rich Lionel Belleclaire for “worker bee” Marcel. Hayley got a text and used it as an excuse to leave; Leslie then messaged Marcel, and when he came to the club, he wondered if Hayley was taking advantage of her. Leslie smiled, seeing a kindred spirit in Hayley, since they were both women who had come up from nothing.
Tha Crossroads
Joey (Jon Lindstrom) confronted Randy again; Randy swore that he had nothing to do with what Hayley had been pulling, but Joey didn’t believe him. When Joey pressed, Randy finally admitted that Hayley was his cousin, not his mistress, as everyone believed. Randy was given a last chance: he had to find and turn over every recording Hayley was using against Bill, including any on hard drives or in cloud accounts. Joey made it clear that Randy wouldn’t survive if he didn’t make good.
Hayley answered Randy’s summons but balked when Randy revealed Joey’s demand for all of Hayley’s leverage against Bill to be handed over. Randy insisted that they leave town immediately; Hayley, however, was unwilling to give up her payday after all she had done to make it happen. Randy pleaded with Hayley to understand that going up against Joey could be fatal, but Hayley pooh-poohed Randy’s concern and decided to talk Joey down herself.
Get Gone
Indeed, Hayley met with Joey and assured him she had no intention of bringing him down with Bill; besides, she would leave town once she finally got Bill’s money. Joey seemed to understand, then made a call and said, “I have a job for you.” Randy was then brought into the casino, where Joey pulled a gun on Randy and said his time was up. Meanwhile, Hayley dodged a call from Leslie, who wanted to go on vacation with her, and someone wearing black gloves took her.
