On the Tuesday, September 15, 2026, episode of “Beyond the Gates,” Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) pulled an unlikely duo into his fact-finding mission, Tomas (Alex Alegria) played nice with Naomi (Arielle Prepetit), and Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant)got cornered by Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) and Marcel (Darryl W. Handy).

Come And Talk To Me

Hayley (Marquita Goings) ran to Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) and told him that he was in trouble: Naomi had finked to Bill that Randy was really “Sammy,” and Hayley was certain that Bill was grilling Joey at that very moment. Randy was glad to hear that Bill seemed to buy the true excuse that Randy had used a fake name during the period in which Hayley had “miscarried” because he was hiding out from Joey…but Randy didn’t like Hayley’s veiled suggestion that he blackmail Joey to keep him from revealing anything to Bill.

As Hayley had predicted, Bill had made a beeline for Joey (Jon Lindstrom), cursing him for not revealing “Sammy” as Randy the last time they’d discussed the man. Joey promised that he hadn’t assigned Randy to follow Hayley, since Randy hadn’t been in his employ at the time. Hearing that Randy and Hayley were still being seen together, Joey realized that Bill thought they were having an affair and told Bill in no uncertain terms that Randy was innocent. In fact, Randy had been spied on in public licking ketchup off a different woman’s fingers. Bill concluded that she couldn’t have been Mona, whom Hayley had claimed Randy was dating.

Joey chuckled that Mona had a soft spot for Randy, but that she was more interested in his soul than his body. To prove his point, Joey summoned Randy, who spluttered about his real name to Bill and called Mona a “kind lady” with whom he was platonic. Likewise, Randy stated that he and Hayley were just friends. Bill growled that Hayley had enough friends, and Randy understood that Bill wanted him to stay away.

After Bill left, Joey echoed Bill’s demand and noted that Hayley was taking up far too much time he was supposed to be spending working. Joey threatened to replace Randy “permanently” if Randy caused him any more problems; Randy swore there wouldn’t be any and departed to take care of business.

She’s A Troublemaker

Heather (Ashley Jones) took a call at her hotel, demanding that something be taken care of “today or not at all,” or the caller would be risking her displeasure. She was later notified that the matter had been handled to her satisfaction, and she couldn’t stop smiling.

Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) got together at the country club for one of their “morning meet-ups.” When Vanessa asked why Nicole had gone to Joey with her complaints about Heather accosting her grandchildren instead of her, Nicole explained that she hadn’t wanted to put Vanessa in the middle. Vanessa ruffled Nicole’s feathers by snarking that Nicole was only upset about Heather because Heather had been with Carlton.

Denying the assertion, Nicole lamented that Heather was “everywhere” and that the newcomer seemed to be trying to ingratiate herself with all of the Duprees. Vanessa conceded that Joey had his own misgivings about Heather but attributed them to him being overprotective; Vanessa knew that Joey really wanted to be close to his sister and hoped to foster a relationship between them. Nicole found Heather’s “unusually charismatic” behavior a red flag and got Vanessa to at least enter into a friendship with Heather with her eyes open.

Later, at the casino, Heather breezed into the back room insisting on taking Joey to lunch. Vanessa arrived and agreed that Joey needed to eat, so Joey gave in on the condition that he finish some work first. Heather engaged a cooler Vanessa in conversation while Randy returned and told Joey he had an important update. Joey’s face hardened as Randy whispered his news in his boss’ ear, and Heather grinned at Joey animatedly.

Good Woman Down

Mona (Karan Kendrick) was surprised to find Bill appearing at Nicole’s house. She became concerned when Bill started asking about Randy, thinking Randy wanted to retain Bill as his lawyer, but Bill clarified that Randy had helped during Hayley’s miscarriage, and how they’d remained friends afterward. Mona relayed that Randy had similarly protected Vanessa from a man who had accosted her and mentioned that Randy had sometimes attended her church… but Mona was cross when Bill passed along Hayley’s report that Randy and Mona were dating.

Adamant that Hayley was mistaken, Mona saw that Bill wanted her to vouch for Randy’s character and called Randy a good man who just needed to get out from under Joey. Bill took off when Nicole came home, and Mona shared her worry that it was only a matter of time before Randy would be harmed by having Joey as a boss. Mona was shocked when Nicole revealed that Joey had a sister, and she advised Nicole to trust her instincts if they told her Heather was trouble.

Killem Wit Kindness

Tomas arrived at the firm to find Naomi at Bill’s desk, poring over the information Mike was forced to reveal about his client, which she hoped would prove that the woman had obtained the remedy that had harmed her son from a different blog than the one run by Madison’s mother. Though Tomas didn’t think Naomi’s strategy would be helpful at first, he joined her in her search and noticed the plaintiff’s username on a blog where the comment section showed she had discredited doctors and discussed the specific garlic and ginger treatment she was interested in.

Hayley forced a measured reaction when she walked in and witnessed Naomi high-fiving Tomas. Then Bill entered, amazed to see Naomi give Tomas all the credit for the discovery that could nullify Mike’s case, and thanked Tomas profusely. Bill called the “new spirit of cooperation” what he wanted to see and praised Tomas, who smiled to himself, satisfied.

What’s Good For The Geese Is Always Good For The Gander

Ted (Keith D. Robinson) stormed into Orphey Gene’s, interrupting Leslie’s meal with Marcel and flaming her for yet again trying to ruin his relationship with Shanice. After Ted threatened to file a harassment charge against Leslie, Marcel said he’d throw Ted in the back of his police cruiser if Ted didn’t simmer down — still, Ted firmly avowed that he had moved on from Leslie decades ago and took off. “Guess he told you,” Marcel smirked to Leslie.

Leslie submitted that she just wanted to keep Shanice from making the same mistake she had with Ted and inferred that Marcel was jealous. Marcel said devotedly that Ted had never deserved Leslie, prompting her to remind Marcel that the thing with them was just for fun. He wasn’t getting seriously attached, was he?

Shanice and Ashley (Jen Jacob) went over how Leslie had tried to sabotage Shanice’s relationship, with Ashley jokingly saying that Leslie might fixate on Marcel instead of Ted were Marcel to break up with her. Inspired, Shanice found Leslie at the diner and wondered aloud how Marcel must have felt, knowing that his girlfriend was always thinking about someone else. Leslie tried to shush her, but Shanice declared that Leslie considered Marcel too available and that he had to be too proud to keep wasting his time with her indefinitely. Leslie slammed her hand down when Marcel announced that Shanice was making sense.
