In a follow-up to the limited series, released in 2023, a film continuation of “Casa Grande” is heading to theaters this weekend and features a cast that includes “General Hospital” star Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos-Davis), Lou Diamond Phillips, Christina Moore, Madison Lawlor and Lauren Swickard, the real-life wife of another “General Hospital” actor, Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase), among others.
The story follows a prodigal daughter who returns to her family’s ranch as her ailing father faces a ruthless bid by a powerful rival for his property, sparking a land war that could cost both families everything.
Juan Pablo Arias Munoz directs from a script he wrote alongside Swickard, Sherell Jackson and Alex Ranarivelo, with additional cast including John Pyper-Ferguson, Javier Bolaños, Daniel Edward Mora, Loren Escandon, Bruce Davison, Shalim Ortiz and Charley Debenedetti.
The film premiered as an official selection during last weekend’s Napa Valley StreamFest in Napa, CA, with Mansi in attendance alongside co-stars Moore, Lawlor, Pyper-Ferguson and producer Ali Afshar.

According to a description of the limited series, which included five one-hour episodes, “Casa Grande” was a “Yellowstone”-esque, bilingual neo-Western limited series that follows the everyday realities and conflicts between California’s hardworking, often undocumented migrant workforce and the wealthy landowners who reap the profits.
“We molded ‘Casa Grande’ as a Hispanic-influenced ‘Yellowstone’ and feel the story will resonate powerfully with audiences appreciating elevated western themes and cultures presented through a different prism,” said Afshar at the time.
You can also watch the limited series on Prime Video.
