Alice Halsey, who has portrayed Rachel Black on “Days of our Lives” since April 2025, is exiting the daytime drama series, with her final air date set for Thursday, March 5.
“My final episode as Rachel Black airs this Thursday,” stated Halsey in a post published Tuesday, March 3, on Instagram. “After shooting 56 episodes of ‘Days of our Lives’ in nine months, it was not easy to say goodbye to my friends in the cast and crew who had become like family. I will be forever grateful for the privilege to play such a fascinating, complicated character and to be a part of this epic story.”
Last fall, it was announced that Halsey had been cast as Laura Ingalls in the Netflix adaptation of “Little House on the Prairie,” which earlier this week received an early Season 2 renewal by the streamer ahead of its Season 1 premiere slated for July.
At the time of her casting, Halsey said, “Love all of the Little House books so much, and I’m so excited and grateful to get to bring Laura to life! Thank you so much to the Little House creative team for putting your faith in me, and to my amazing team, Pamela Fisher at LBI and Domina Holbeck and Sloane Fitzgerald at CESD Talent Agency!”
As for her time at the long-running daytime drama series, Halsey says, “Thank you to everyone at ‘DAYS’ – I miss you guys!! – and to all of the incredible fans for your support of my turn as Rachel Black!”
Halsey’s goodbye message included several poignant behind-the-scenes photos featuring the actress and her co-stars, including on-screen grandmother Diedre Hall (Marlena Evans), and on-screen parents Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera) and Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), among others.
“Miss you and I loved playing your mommy!” commented Haiduk.
“I will miss you like bonkers! I will treasure being your tv Dad before your obvious ascent into superstardom. Love ya, Alice,” responded Martsolf.
“Alice, you were so incredible on the show, and I’m so happy to have become friends with you!!” shared Cary Christopher, who himself also recently exited the soap opera as Thomas DiMera. “Can’t wait to see you shine on ‘Little House on the Prairie’!”
In addition to her role on “Days of our Lives,” Halsey has also appeared in an episode of the NBC comedy “Night Court” and provided her voice for a role in the Disney Jr. original series “Kindergarten: The Musical.”
