As nominations for “The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” are set to be announced on Thursday, July 10, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the governing body behind the awards, is consolidating its social media accounts on X (formerly Twitter) under a singe handle (@TheEmmys), and once again clarifies that the brand new soap opera “Beyond the Gates” is not eligible for any nominations this year.
In a post on X, the organization gave an update to its followers, noting, “Two reminders as we head into nominations: 1) The eligibility window was calendar year 2024, so #BeyondTheGates isn’t eligible. We look forward to their participation next year! 2) Going forward all #DaytimeEmmys info (like nominations) will come from @TheEmmys. Follow us there!”
As a result of the change, the @daytimeemmys handle, which has been around since January 2009 and has amassed more than 81,000 followers, will cease providing updates on the prestigious award.
The announcement of which of your favorite daytime stars and shows will be nominated for their work during calendar year 2024 will be made at noon ET/9:00 a.m. PT on X on Thursday, July 10, via the handle @TheEmmys and on TheEmmys.TV, the official website for NATAS.
Nominations are set to be announced in a variety of categories, including Daytime Dramas (acting, writing and directing, etc.), Culinary Instructional, Culinary Cultural, Daytime Talk Series, Lifestyle, Arts and Popular Culture, Travel/Adventure, Nature/Science, Legal/Courtroom, Entertainment News, Daytime Non-Fiction Special, Daytime Non-Fiction Short Form, Instructional/How-To, Animal Shows, and Parades.
Ahead of the nominations being announced, entertainment news shows “Access Hollywood,” “Entertainment Tonight,” “Extra” and E! News will provide a special preview during their Wednesday, July 9 evening broadcasts.
In addition to the Daytime Emmy Awards, NATAS is also the governing body overseeing the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards (CAFE), Sports Emmy Awards, News & Documentary Emmy Awards, the Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards, and a host of other Emmys throughout the country.
