During the week of July 14-18, 2025, CBS’ lineup consisting of repeats of “The Price is Right” and original episodes of “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Beyond the Gates” were the standout performers among both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, each seeing week-to-week and/or year-over-year growth among the key sales demographics.

Powerful Performance(s)

On Thursday, July 17, 2025, the CBS soaps in particular saw some of their best ratings in the key sales demographics in several months, or even set season highs for an individual episode. The lineup was powered by “The Young and the Restless,” which set a season high for an individual episode among Women 18-49 with a 0.42 rating in the demo, the largest single episode rating for any soap opera season-to-date, topping the Tuesday, April 1, 2025 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” which had a 0.41 rating. Meanwhile, among Women 25-54, the hour-long soap tied for its fifth-best rating of the season for an individual episode with a 0.57 rating (best since Thursday, April 3, 2025).

Following “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” tied for its second-best individual episode performance of the season among Women 25-54 with a 0.52 rating (best since Thursday, April 23, 2025). Meanwhile, “Beyond the Gates” marked its second-best performance ever for an individual episode among Women 18-49 (0.29 rating), behind only the series premiere on February 24, 2025 (0.30 rating). With a 0.44 rating among Women 25-54, the July 17, 2025 episode tied the series premiere for the second-best rating in the demo, behind only the March 3, 2025 episode (0.46 rating), which remains the highest-rated individual episode to date for the drama series.

Rest of the Week

As for the week itself, “The Young and the Restless” was up +0.05 week-to-week and year-over-year among Women 18-49 (0.30 rating), while up +0.01 week-to-week and +0.02 year-over-year among Women 25-54 (0.45 rating).

“The Bold and the Beautiful” was up +0.03 week-to-week and year-over-year among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating) and up +0.02 week-to-week and up +0.03 year-over-year among Women 25-54 (0.40 rating).

“Beyond the Gates” was up +0.02 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.22 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.34 rating), with its best performance in the former category in 15 weeks (since week of March 31-April 4, 2025) and best in the latter category in 12 weeks (since week of April 21-25, 2025).

“General Hospital” was flat week-to-week in both demographics and also saw the largest year-over-year drop across daytime broadcast among both Women 18-49 (0.17 rating vs. 0.23 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.28 rating vs. 0.33 rating). Meanwhile, “GMA3” tied its series low among Women 18-49 (0.11 rating) and set a new series low among Women 25-54 (0.16 rating).

UPDATE: Despite its questionable demos, wherein the show was down significantly compared to the same week last year among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, “General Hospital” gained +46,000 viewers week-to-week and +101,000 viewers year-over-year. The long-running soap opera was the only daytime broadcast show to see growth compared to the same week last year among Total Viewers. “Beyond the Gates” grew from the year ago performance of “The Talk.”
