“Beyond the Gates” stars Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree) and Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), as well as executive producer Sheila Ducksworth, will be attending this year’s ESSENCE Festival of Culture event taking place in New Orleans, LA., from Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6.
The group will be part of a panel discussion moderated by Crystal Renee Hayslett (“Sistas,” “Zatima”) from the ESSENCE Main Stage at 3:25 p.m. CT on Friday, July 4 (Independence Day).
Launched in 1995 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of ESSENCE magazine, the ESSENCE Festival of Culture celebrates African American culture, music, and entertainment and is the largest of its kind in the U.S.
Attendance at the festival reached a record-breaking 250,000 people in 2024.
Musical acts set to perform this year include Maxwell, Babyface, The Isley Brothers, GloRilla, Psiryn, Lucky Daye, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Buju Banton, Summer Walker, Master P, Nas, Doug E. Fresh, and many more.
