While an official reason for airing a week of repeats remains a mystery, a representative for “Beyond the Gates” confirms to Soap Opera Network that original episodes of the daytime drama series are set to return on Monday, July 7.
Last week, fans were stunned to learn that for the second time since the show’s debut in February, CBS scheduled last-minute repeat episodes of the series to air during the week of June 30-July 4, 2025, despite continuing with plans to air all-new episodes of “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” particularly with both shows also airing originals on the Independence Day holiday (July 4th).
Before this week’s full week of repeats, the last time the network aired a rerun of “Beyond the Gates” was on Memorial Day (May 26, 2025). Meanwhile, the network’s other soaps aired originals on the holiday in line with prior years.
In response to the schedule changes, series creator, executive producer and showrunner Michele Val Jean addressed the matter on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “To those asking: preemption-rerun decisions are made way above my pay grade so no insight into that.” She added, “The good news is the upcoming reruns are premiere week so those of you who missed it can catch up with how it all began.”
In a follow-up post, Val Jean said, “Just want to say to our #BeyondTheGates peeps, I love your passion for the show. And I thank you for it.”
As the show returns with originals during the week of July 7-11, 2025, fans can look forward to a lot of juicy twists happening in Fairmont Crest as teased in the “next on” preview, aired following the Friday, June 27 episode.
At Orphey Gene’s, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) meets with Hayley (Marquita Goings), pondering how the two could work together, while at the police station, Smitty (Mike Manning) shares with Jacob (Jibre Hordges) what he knows about Malone (Darryl W. Handy) and Vernon (Clifton Davis). Elsewhere, Dani (Karla Mosley) questions her father over what she thinks is bothering him, specifically if it has anything to do with Martin (Brandon Claybon). Meanwhile, a desperate Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) pleads with Jacob to meet her at the hospital, stating, “It’s an emergency.”
Doug (Jason Graham) and Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) are stunned by Joey’s (Jon Lindstrom) latest action, leaving Randy to reveal how terrified he is of the casino owner to Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and her husband. Eva (Ambyr Michelle) confronts her sister, Kat (Colby Muhammad), dragging her as a “spoiled selfish little bitch,” to which Kat retorts, “Is that the best you’ve got?”
The preview concludes with Dani’s anger fully on display at Uptown as she witnesses a cozied-up Andre (Sean Freeman) and Ashley (Jen Jacob).
