Marking his 11th visit to the daytime talk show, former President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, are scheduled to appear on the Thursday, May 8 broadcast of ABC’s “The View.”
According to the network, the exclusive appearance marks the first interview for the Bidens since leaving the White House in January 2025 with the former first couple joining the co-hosts in the show’s brand new New York City studio to discuss life after the presidency, the 46th president’s legacy, Democrats’ election losses and the current political landscape.
Last appearing on the show on September 25, 2024, Biden previously made history as the first sitting president to appear live on the show and the second time a sitting president had visited, following former President Barack Obama’s visit in 2010. He first appeared on “The View” as a senator on September 24, 2007.
On April 22, 2010, Biden became the first sitting vice president to be a featured guest on the show and the first of four appearances he made during the Obama administration, including September 27, 2011; February 25, 2014; and January 13, 2017. He made his first appearance as a non-sitting politician on December 13, 2017.
Giving his first interview on the April 26, 2019 broadcast after announcing his presidential candidacy for the 2020 election, Biden made two additional appearances during the campaign, including February 13, 2020 and March 24, 2020.
Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro ranks as the most-watched daytime talk show for the fifth consecutive season, and has emerged to become “the most important political TV show in America,” according to The New York Times.
“The View” is produced by ABC News and airs weekdays at 11:00 a.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT on ABC. The show is also available to stream Live and On Demand on Hulu.
