THE NUMBERS

The daytime broadcast shows had an atypical week during the week of May 8-12, 2023, where very few shows showed improvement compared to last week and last year, while others saw a downtick due to sports-related preemptions.

“The View” (2.233 million) was the standout performer overall, gaining +51,000 viewers over its week ago performance and was up three-hundredths in Women 18-49 and two-hundredths in Women 25-54.

Compared to its performance one year earlier, “The View” saw the smallest decline among all of the daytime broadcast shows in Total Viewers, dropping just -47,000 viewers year over year. The show was up year-over-year in both of the key sales demographics. All other shows were flat or down in the key demos and among Total Viewers.

Despite airing just two all-new episodes, “The Talk” (1.421 million) saw a week-to-week decline of just -6,000 viewers, the smallest week-to-week decline among all of the daytime broadcast shows. The series was up three-hundredths in Women 18-49 rating and four-hundredths in Women 25-54 rating.

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of May 8-12, 2023 in Women 18-49 Rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance last year (2022) and two years ago (2021), respectively.
