REPORT: ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Returning to Italy for Location Shoot in Rome

Marking the fifth time the show has taped episodes in the country, "The Bold and the Beautiful" is heading back to Italy for its next remote shoot.

Cast and crew from “The Bold and the Beautiful” are heading back to Italy next month for an all-new location shoot, reports The Hollywood Reporter Rome, the Italian edition of the iconic trade magazine. This marks the soap’s fifth trip to Italy after Lake Como in 1997, Venice in 1999, Portofino in 2002 and Puglia in 2012.

According to the publication, at least seven cast members from the show will be around for the three-day shoot, taking place in Rome from May 15-17, including Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester), Annika Noelle (Hope Logan), Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer), Matthew Atkinson (Thomas Forrester) and Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton). The show’s executive producer and head writer, Bradley Bell, will join them.

Locations scouted by production for filming include Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna, the Colosseum and Gianicolo, among others.

Reportedly, Bell chose the Italian capital city for its “effective romanticism.” Additionally, the show will pay homage to the Italian actors whose voices are dubbed over the Americans that portray central characters on the series with the voice actors appearing on screen for the first time. Casting is also underway to include other Italian “known faces.”

Episodes featuring the Italian remote will air late spring/early summer on CBS in the United States, while viewers in Italy won’t see the episodes on the country’s Canale5 until next year as episodes currently air one year behind the U.S.
