Anthony Morina’s time as co-executive producer at “The Young and the Restless” has concluded after nearly four years on the job, reports Daytime Confidential. According to the outlet, Morina was let go and will not be replaced. Josh Griffith, who had been co-EP alongside Morina, will now take over as sole showrunner and remains the show’s head writer.

The husband of former “Y&R” head writer Sally Sussman, Morina and Griffith were named co-EPs of the daytime drama series in December 2018 following the exit of British producer Mal Young. The two previously served as supervising producers. Morina had been with the show since the mid-2000s when he served as a producer and director. He served in the same capacity, or similar, on “All My Children,” “General Hospital,” “Santa Barbara” and “Sunset Beach,” among others. He was also a producer on “Spyder Games,” a hybrid soap aired on MTV in 2001.

In August 2021, a former background actress named Briana Thomas filed a civil lawsuit against Morina and producer Sony Pictures Television for wrongful termination, alleging that during the time Morina had been the show’s supervising producer, he sexually harassed her on several occasions. Thomas worked as a barista on the soap in 2018 and 2019.

A jury trial has been set for March 2023.
