THE SCOOP

As previously reported, Joshua Benard is returning to “General Hospital” on the Wednesday, March 16 episode. Unlike his previous stint in 2018 where he portrayed a younger version of Sonny Corinthos in flashbacks, Benard will instead appear on the soap as a college classmate of Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy).

In a clip provided by the soap in anticipation of Benard’s return to the series, Josslyn is shown studying for a midterm at Charlie’s Pub when Adam (Benard) shows up to join her. However, considering Josslyn’s apprehension since the tape of her and Cameron (William Lipton) having sex got shown in class, it’s no surprise to hear Adam tell her, “I’ve actually been thinking about chemistry lately.” He clarifies, saying, “Ever since I saw you naked, I just…” From there the clip ends.

To find out whether Adam turns out to be a disgraceful classmate or what is heard coming from his mouth is actually just thoughts going through Josslyn’s head of what she perceives others are thinking, make sure to tune into today’s episode of “General Hospital.”

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Benard, the real-life son of Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) reveals he’d love to come back to the series to play opposite his dad, something he didn’t get to do either time he’s appeared on the soap.

“I really hope, one day, to get to do a scene with my dad on the show,” he says. “That’s the goal. So, my final word is, get me back on the show!”

As for working with McCoy, Benard notes, “Eden’s great! Everyone was saying that we had great chemistry on-screen, and I think we do. I think she’s a great actress and it was cool working with her because it was free-flowing. With Eden, it was just easy. I just met her on set and we did it, no rehearsal, no nothing. It was very fun, very quick, and you have to get it [right]. You have to be on your toes; there’s no messing around!”
