First appearing on The CW’s “All American” in the show’s March 14 episode, entitled “Liberation,” “One Life to Live” alum Kamar de los Reyes (ex-Antonio Vega) is set to continue in a recurring capacity on the drama series about a gifted high school football star who changes schools to become a state champion at Beverly Hills High.

First reported by TheWrap, de los Reyes is playing Coach Mr. Montes, a smart, confident, and unpredictable Coastal California football coach who develops a unique relationship with Asher Adams (Cody Christian) that ends up challenging both of them. The name “Coach Mr. Montes” refers to how JJ Parker (Hunter Clowdus) distinguishes Montes from his wife (played by Alexandra Barreto) who is also named Coach Montes. Thus, he refers to her as Coach Mrs. Montes and the other as Coach Mr. Montes. Asher notes to JJ, “You know, you could just call them both ‘Coach Montes,’ right?”

Thus far, Asher, who wants to become a student football coach, has been receiving tips from Mr. Tontes but unfortunately found himself without a job on the team as there were no openings available except for the role of laundry boy. Not wanting to pass up an opportunity when it presents itself, Asher quickly accepted as he told Mr. Montes, “I’d be a fool not to do whatever it takes to learn from the best, which you are.”

Look for de los Reyes to appear in four episodes of what remains of the show’s current fourth season.

Since last appearing on “One Life to Live” in 2009, de los Reyes has made a name for himself in Hollywood, starring in “Sleepy Hollow” for FOX in 2017, and appearing on a number of shows including “MacGyver,” “SEAL Team,” “Castle,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “Shooter” and “Blue Bloods,” among a multitude of others. More recently, the actor had a multi-episode guest arc on “The Rookie.” He also voiced Raul Menendez in the “Call of Duty: Black Ops” video game series.
