THE SCOOP

Days of our Lives” alum Krista Allen (ex-Billie Reed) is joining the cast of “The Bold and the Beautiful” as a recast Dr. Taylor Hayes. She replaces Hunter Tylo who originated the role in 1990 and last appeared on the soap in 2019.

According to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the news, Allen begins taping at Television City where the soap is produced on Thursday, October 28. She’ll first air beginning Friday, December 10.

Her first scenes will be with Jacqueline MacInnes Wood who plays Taylor’s daughter, Steffy Forrester, and Thorsten Kaye who plays Taylor’s ex-husband, Ridge Forrester, the father of both Steffy and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).

Reportedly Tylo was unavailable to return when the soap reached out so they recast with Allen instead.

In addition to her 1996-1999 stint on “DAYS,” Allen is probably best known outside of soaps for her role as Jenna Avid on “Baywatch” or as Bridget Keller on “What About Brian.”

Allen most recently starred in The CW’s “Significant Mother” and appeared in episodes of “9-1-1,” “Modern Family” and “Castle.” She played a lead in the TV movies “The Wrong Mr. Right,” “The Wrong Stepfather” and “I Almost Married a Serial Killer.”
