General Hospital” star Sydney Mikayla (Trina Robinson) is off contract with the daytime soap opera and now appears in a recurring capacity, Soap Opera Network has confirmed. She joins co-star William Lipton (Cameron Webber) who has been recurring for some time. Despite the change in her status, however, don’t expect Mikayla to be leaving “GH” anytime soon. Her character will remain involved in current storylines.

Mikayla tells Soap Opera Network exclusively, “Right now I’m getting into the swing of things at school and navigating the balancing act. ‘GH’ has been super supportive of all the teens going to school and I’m super happy about that. Team ‘GH’!”

In May, Mikayla announced she had decided to attend the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) after receiving offers from the likes of Howard University, LMU, Pace University, and Texas State University, among others. In total, Mikayla received 14 acceptance letters from the colleges and universities she applied to.

“UCLA Bound!” Mikayla wrote at the time of her announcement as she toured the campus while wearing a UCLA branded t-shirt and hat. She’ll graduate as part of the class of 2025.
