It’s been over 25 years and the Devil is ready to reclaim Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) on “Days of our Lives.” As teased last week, the daytime drama series will be revisiting the possession storyline that rocked the broadcast ratings in the 1990s. Kicking off on the Friday, September 17 episode with the revelation of Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) embodying Satan himself as he told Marlena in a demonic voice, “Did you really think I wouldn’t come back for you?” the possession of Salemites as an umbrella is just one of several storylines jumping off this fall on “DAYS” as shown in the fall preview recently released by NBC.
“So, what should we do this fall season?” asks Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) at the outset of the fall preview promo which highlights Salem romances, particularly between Abigail and Chad (Marci Miller and Billy Flynn), Roman and Kate (Josh Taylor and Lauren Koslow), Ben and Ciara (Robert Scott Wilson and Victoria Konefal), Shawn and Belle (Brandon Beemer and Martha Madison), Allie and Tripp (Lindsay Arnold and Lucas Adams), Chanel and Johnny (Raven Bowens and Carson Boatman), Philip and Chloe (Jay Kenneth Johnson and Nadia Bjorlin), Nicole and Rafe (Arianne Zucker and Galen Gering), Nicole and EJ (Zucker and Dan Feuerriegel), and finally the planned wedding between Paulina and Abe (Jackée Harry and James Reynolds). Also highlighted are fights, affairs, secrets and lies, a possible baby, and, of course, levitations.
So, answering Kayla’s question above, how about this fall we watch as our Salemites find their girl, win her heart, put a ring on it, knock ‘em down, lay ‘em out, spill it, spit it, criticize like they only know how, fraternize, fertilize and face their demons because that’s all happening this fall on “Days of our Lives.”
