“The Croods” and its sequel “The Croods: A New Age” were both successful films for DreamWorks Animation, the latter of which was released during a pandemic, and now the ever-evolving story of the Croods and the Bettermans continues in an all-new animated series set to premiere Thursday, September 23 on Hulu and Peacock, entitled “The Croods: Family Tree.” The six-episode series follows the families as they learn to live together on the most idyllic farm in prehistory. The journey from sparring rivals to unlikely friends is fraught with hilarious misadventures as the two families slowly overcome their differences to turn a treehouse divided into a tree home united.
“The Bold and the Beautiful” star Darin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer) is set to voice the role of “Guy” in the series. In the films, the role was voiced by Ryan Reynolds.
“So I’m SUPER EXCITED to announce this!!!” began Brooks in a message posted to his Instagram. “It’s been months in the making and so many recordings from @kellylkruger‘s walk-in closet, I’m beginning to think I LIVE IN there… #CroodsFamilyTree is finally coming to @hulu and @peacocktv!!!!” He added, “It’s such an AMAZINGLY TALENTED cast! These voiceover pros are sooo funny!! The writers, producers, animators and all the crew are wildly talented and am just so blessed that they let me be apart of it!! Oh yeah, and I voice GUY!!”
Thanking the studio and some of his castmates, Brooks also thanked Reymods himself. “OH! and thank you @vancityreynolds for being wayyy too busy Freeing Guy and drinking too much @aviationgin to be able to do this!! (Which I want to finally try btw…) Anyway, CONGRATS TO ALL!!! And trust me… you’ll really wanna watch it!!! It’s a GREAT SHOW!!!”
