“Ambitions” creator Jamey Giddens has joined the writing team of “Days of our Lives” and its spinoff “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem” as a breakdown writer, it was announced early this evening on Twitter.

In a tweet, Giddens shared, “In 1991, I was faking a stomach flu to stay home from high school to watch @nbcdays. Now, I’m writing for them. Thanks to Ken Corday [executive producer], Albert Alarr [co-executive producer] and @carlivatiron!”

Fans will see Giddens’ name in the credits as a breakdown writer beginning with the Friday, September 10 finale episode of “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem,” the five-episode limited series spinoff of “DAYS” airing exclusively on Peacock. His name will appear in the credits for the mothership series beginning in November. “Beyond Salem” debuts Monday, September 6 on the streaming platform.

“DA Giddens is in the house…,” wrote head writer Ron Carlivati in response to Giddens’ tweet. Paul Telfer (Xander Kiriakis) also responded to Giddens’ tweet, saying, “Was so happy when I saw your name appear on scripts Jamey!” Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera) gave the tweet a “Hell yeah!” that was accompanied by the “folded hands” emoji. Using the “clapping hands” emoji, Angell Conwell (ex-Leslie Michaelson, “Y&R”) commented on Giddens’ Instagram post, telling him, “You deserve ALL the best. Cheers! & Congrats!” Michele Val Jean, a writer at “The Bold and the Beautiful” said, “And they’re lucky to have you, my brilliant friend. Congrats all around!”

In addition to creating and executive producing “Ambitions” for OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, Giddens served as an associate producer on the series “Workshop” and was a writer for the inaugural season of “The Rich and the Ruthless,” created by Victoria Rowell (“The Young and the Restless,” “Diagnosis Murder”).

Prior to his television work, Giddens made a name for himself as the editorial director for Daytime Confidential, a popular TV news destination featuring breaking news on soaps, talk shows and game shows, daily recaps and spoilers. In 2009, he co-hosted “The 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Pre-Show” alongside Soap Opera Digest editor-in-chief Stephanie Sloane and Canadian journalist Nelson Branco.

Congratulations, Jamey! Welcome to the “Days of our Lives” writing team!
