Soap Alum Jacob Young Joins ‘The Walking Dead’

Soap alum Jacob Young ("The Bold and the Beautiful," "All My Children," et al.) has joined the cast of "The Walking Dead" for the show's 11th and final season.

The Bold and the Beautiful” alum Jacob Young (ex-Rick Forrester) is making a grand return to primetime when he joins the cast of “The Walking Dead.”

While character details are being kept under wraps at this time, Deadline reports the actor will play the role of Deaver during the show’s 11th and final season, which has a 24-episode order and debuts Sunday, August 22 on AMC.

“So excited and pumped about joining such a successful and long running franchise! Looking forward to sharing more with everyone,” wrote Young on Instagram following the news of his casting.

Most recently appearing in the digital drama series “Beacon Hill,” Young had been a daytime mainstay since first joining “B&B” in 1997. He later starred on “All My Children” as JR Chandler and “General Hospital” as Lucky Spencer, the latter of which he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2002.

Currently in pre-production on a number of film/TV projects, Young has been keeping himself busy outside of daytime. He currently hosts his own podcast, “Real Conversations with Jacob Young,” wherein he takes on real-life, current events, pop culture and tackles serious issues like mental health, relationships, and more with celebrity guests, friends and experts. The latest podcast features the actor talking with his former “AMC” co-star Aiden Turner (ex-Aidan Devane).
